Message: <blockquote data-quote="MichiganHerd" data-source="post: 131693042" data-attributes="member: 1536401"><p>I actually agree with you on this take.  This isn't softball where you can hit the ball where ever you want to on the field.  Reaction times in college and MLB are greatly reduced, making it very difficult for a hitter to place the ball.  You can almost get away with it, say in high school type baseball, where a pitcher maybe throwing in the 70s and low 80s, but doing so against someone tossing it upper 80s/low 90s is extremely difficult.  Like you said, it's hard enough just getting a bat on a ball.  Placing it in an open gap just isn't an option, unless the pitcher makes a bad pitch to the outside of the plate.</p></blockquote><p></p>
