Then again I wasn't happy with his lack of defensive effort..

We also need to free up a scholly for that kid from Knoxville we just signed.

Boy, Johnson declaring may just be even more pointless than when Rhodes declared early.
Rhodes didnt get a sniff. Not a single workout.

Yet Johnson could be more pointless than even that.

There is no harm in it, he is gone after next year anyways. But its just odd. What is he going to find out that he doesnt already know/hasnt already been told to him ad naus?

NBA GM- "Ravern, you are a terrible defender and have little strength. Your ball handling has only recently become mildly tolerable and you arent nearly aggressive enough"

Ravern- "Yeah, but i can run the floor like a deer and randomly light it up from deep."

NBA GM-'Which 458,563 other players can do while also halfway guarding someone."

The new withdrawl deadline for underclassmen makes this move even more pointless.

If we lose these two guys, especially Bost we will be last in the SECW next year. Absolutely devastating for our program. Rick needs to start recruiting guys who are "high character" and are going to work extremely hard bc when he signs these talent guys they don't like to listen to Rick and play how he wants them to play and it's been hurting us with transfers and early declarations for the past few years if this holds up to be true. I'm sick of this ****. Why commit to play for a coach if you aren't going to commit to his style of play.

As long as they stay away from agents. I don't blame any player for getting their name out there and finding out the holes in their game from NBA scouts (not that it takes a rocket scientist to see their flaws). Now if either of them go through with it then they win the prize for most moronic move in MSU basketball history. Hell, Ravern couldn't even guard Luke Walton.

it will interesting to see how hard he is willing to work on his strength and conditioning now that he knows when he will play. I'm hoping for a Mario Austin freshman to sophomore type transformation. If he actually returns (and Bost wisely pulls out of the draft) we could be right back in the thick of the SEC West race and have another shot at an NCAA tourney bid.

Because it sure appears now that Sidney will indeed suit up for the Maron and Whit. Alot of crow to be eaten around here if that's the case.

it's not their fault entirely. Stansbury always has players like this that he can't control. He needs to startgetting in their faces and challenging them whenever they start acting like rock stars.Half the time, the starters aren't even listening during timeouts. He's gotta get control early and keep it. He's just too nice sometimes. I'm sure we'll see vern and bost here next year.Peopleenter the draft without an agent all the time just like Varnado.Itgives you a measuring stick before your final year.

He's only a sophomore, and you can only declare and then pull out once. Meaning if he does come back, has an average year, he can't test the waters again next year. It's all or nothing after his junior year, which leads me to believe he's gone for sure after next year.

Thinks he's good enough for the NBA even though he's not. The only question is which year is he going to be dumb enough to actually try to go pro.

I get testing the waters as a Junior, but come on Bost. He is a slightly better than average college PG. Bost will be very lucky to play one game in the NBA.

I think itd be a stretch to consider him near ready right now, but calling him a slightly better than average college PG is really selling him short. There are some terrible PGs out there. Damn, there are over 330 D1 teams, each with at least 2 PGs. Id say he is WAY higher than 'slightly better than average'.
He was 2nd team All SEC this past season.

The guy at timesmakes some bad decisions as to when he should shoot, but there isnt a whole lot else to tear him apart on.

<div>Please stop with the "how stupid" crap......</div><div>
</div>Ravern SHOULD declare and try to get some exposure, and get some strong indication of how far he needs to come in certain aspects of his game - the exposure may get him some shots in Europe down the line that he might not get otherwise.<div>
</div><div>Bost probably should, because I believe that he has the talent to get drafted following a strong junior year - he started to come on with his end-between game and he is scoring a little better at the rim. I can see where people question it though, because you can only declare and pull out once - it seems kind of like a 50/50 thing with Bost's decision.</div><div>
</div><div>I don't think either one would be close to the first round, and questionable to be drafted at all - so I look for them to be back.</div>
