Boy, Johnson declaring may just be even more pointless than when Rhodes declared early.
Rhodes didnt get a sniff. Not a single workout.
Yet Johnson could be more pointless than even that.
There is no harm in it, he is gone after next year anyways. But its just odd. What is he going to find out that he doesnt already know/hasnt already been told to him ad naus?

If we lose these two guys, especially Bost we will be last in the SECW next year. Absolutely devastating for our program. Rick needs to start recruiting guys who are "high character" and are going to work extremely hard bc when he signs these talent guys they don't like to listen to Rick and play how he wants them to play and it's been hurting us with transfers and early declarations for the past few years if this holds up to be true. I'm sick of this ****. Why commit to play for a coach if you aren't going to commit to his style of play.
As long as they stay away from agents. I don't blame any player for getting their name out there and finding out the holes in their game from NBA scouts (not that it takes a rocket scientist to see their flaws). Now if either of them go through with it then they win the prize for most moronic move in MSU basketball history. Hell, Ravern couldn't even guard Luke Walton.
it will interesting to see how hard he is willing to work on his strength and conditioning now that he knows when he will play. I'm hoping for a Mario Austin freshman to sophomore type transformation. If he actually returns (and Bost wisely pulls out of the draft) we could be right back in the thick of the SEC West race and have another shot at an NCAA tourney bid.

I think itd be a stretch to consider him near ready right now, but calling him a slightly better than average college PG is really selling him short. There are some terrible PGs out there. Damn, there are over 330 D1 teams, each with at least 2 PGs. Id say he is WAY higher than 'slightly better than average'.

The guy at timesmakes some bad decisions as to when he should shoot, but there isnt a whole lot else to tear him apart on.
