I can't imagine anyone beating Kipchoge, but he's never run Boston before so will be interesting to see what time he runs. Last years winner and third place finisher are in it so they could give him a good challenge.

To maybe put the speed of the best into context for some here- they average 13mph running the marathon.
I bet 2/3 of this board couldnt average that speed on a bike for the same distance.

the commentators were just talking about Conner Mantz, a BYU grad, who is in with the lead pack. They were saying he was easily recognizable because of his blue top and because he slightly lists to the left when running.

It had nothing to do with him being one of the only white guys left out front**

Funny enough, that's the tough thing about the Boston course(when running). The first 6 miles or so are downhill and it pounds your quads. Then you hit rollers for the next 20 and it sucks.
