If it doesn't matter, why not vote for him? I guess you could instead vote for others who will merely vote "yes" on every proposal. Is that what you want? Because that is exactly what you'll get.
That’s what I voted for! People like lubrano and harasser Barry should be far away from our university. The alums took out one. Next year, lubrano goes goodbye

You just loathe Lubrano because he is far richer and was a better baseball player than you at PSU. 😂

Who the **** is moogy. Seriously. I post all over the internet with this username lol

I'm Moogy. I'm guessing you're responding to yet another failed troll attempt by our resident failed doxxer, Nabob (who has gone by MANY other names, and probably still does right now - that's why he's so paranoid about others having multiple names ... he thinks everyone must be as sad as he is).

It's best just to ignore him. He'll only try to get your personal information, but he's really bad at it.

I recently challenged him to have Tom (the guy who runs this board) verify how many active monikers I have, and if I had more than one, I'd leave, and if I didn't, he'd have to leave ... but he was too much of a coward to accept the wager. He just wants to continue trolling and doxing (or, at least, attempting to and failing miserably).

The cabal that runs the university (and town) once again manipulated the rules in their favor just like they have been doing for well over a decade

Congratulations?

Exactly. The alumni haven’t spoken. The bot have manufactured the outcome.

People who dislike Barry excuse or even embrace the shenanigans because they dislike Barry. Principles don’t matter.

Our alumni BoT slot selection process now more closely resembles that of every other university that has similar slots. We adopted a best practice. Why are you crying about it? Because a discredited beggar troll didn’t win? This is a positive development for the university, and I’m sure Barry will be back begging for someone to finance his next troll/vanity project.

Do your principles include voting for someone who openly opined for someone to shoot themself in the head?

Super strange that people wanted to die on the Barry hill.

Why should we be like everyone else? We are PSU... We are the lead dogs otherwise the view never changes

That just means you're Moogy, too. Everyone is Moogy. Moogy is everyone.

You're watching Nabob's paranoid schizophrenia taking control of his noggin in real time.

In the end, sadly does not matter who is elected. Alumni BOT members really can’t make a difference.

I am not sure what total vote counts have been annually over last 20 yrs, but the amount voting shows complete lack of interest and or apathy because it doesn’t really matter.

Yet you worried a lot about this election. Seems contradictory.
Worry no... Nothing can be done until the state of PA steps in ... As the saying goes right now against the PSU BOT resistance is futile. No one can do anything and everything they do is behind closed doors.

But Barry Schiester and the Joebots assured us there would be half a million alumni willing to throw copious amounts of money at a stadium/field renaming, so that the $50M actually raised for such would be peanuts and is an affront to humanity, and all that is holy.

These same folks are so engaged in the world of PSU that they can't be bothered to cast a free ballot over the internet?

The next thing that happens is that alumni elections are suspended to be replaced by appointments.

That's happening at Indiana University right now. But the state there is doing what our BOT did. Appointing them.

Yes.
Outside of the state of Indiana, you and I and maybe a handful of other people are even aware of what happened there.

Indiana historically had 9 trustees - 6 appointed by Gov, 3 elected by alumni.
IU is different from PSU in that they have always been governed as a true Public State University - PSU tries to straddle both sides of the fence - choosing to position themselves as either public or private depending on what best serves the current need.
So, in Indiana, since they were always a Public-Public, it was up to the State Legislature to provide ultimate governance, and the state legislature (through a process that has upset many alumni) made that change.
If such a change happens at PSU, I would highly doubt it will come from the state legislature.

I'm only aware because a good friend and former co-worker (and soccer teammate) is an IU grad.

Interesting thoughts from Centre County Judge Brian Marshall:

Though he ruled in the board’s favor, Marshall took exception with how it described one of its members.

“Throughout the course of this litigation, Mr. Fenchak has demonstrated himself to be a dedicated member of the PSU community, who at all times has held a good faith belief that his work on the Board of Trustees is for the greater good of the institution and the students that it serves”

The rest of the article is even more critical of the BOT. I will not be shocked if a major scandal breaks out in the next few years regarding how the BOT has managed the university's money. Someone will talk--or get caught doing something else.

I did send a modified version (for word count) to the CDT just now.... We'll see if it gets published.

At some point all of this dirt is going to see the light of day. I have never seen any board of any type so afraid of open thinking and discussion. Everything must be done behind closed doors. It's a shame really.

In response, the board forced Fenchak to read aloud in court a social media post in which he called a former woman trustee a “stupid b----,” asked her to shoot herself and to “blow away - like old, dried up dog crap.” The further described Fenchak as an “internet troll” who has shown an “abhorrent display of misogyny.”

If a hero is going to show up to take down the BOT, they’re going to have to much less of a dumbass than Barry

Nobody other than a toady will ever again get onto the board to begin with- don't kid yourself
