The Liberty will be Vandy vs. Louisville or Cincinnati...

Their will be no CUSA team in the Liberty Bowl...

USM escapes having to get smashed by an SEC team, and gets to play around with a 6-6 big east team in the Birmingham who gives a **** bowl.

I hope they beat Houston now. It would be awesome for them to be conference champs and relegated to Legion Field. The site of their undoing.

at the time they did this. Plus, I think Louisville was still in the league (one of Memphis' big rivals from the Metro Conference days.)

If Houston wins this week, they get a BCS bowl, the highest bowl tie in the SEC has. This is an 18 million dollar payout.

If Houston loses this week, they probably get a bid to the Hawii bowl, a bowl less prestigious than the BVBA compass bowl, and with less than half its payout (398K).

For comparison's sake, our likely destination, the Music City bowl, has a 1.6 million dollar payout (100K less than Liberty, 800K less than Gator, and about half of Peach - and a reasonable stepladder continues upward)

It's just crazy to think that Houston will go to either a bowl that's the same reward for the SEC champ, or a bowl that's significantly worse than our worst bowl, by the outcome of one game. (Similar situation to BSU dropping to the Las Vegas bowl from a BCS bowl last year from 1 game - cost every team in your conference about a million and a half dollars.)

I'm not saying if it's fair or not, it's just strange to me.
