I'm locked out of my Yahoo! account. Let me see what I can do. Everyone will have to fill it out tomorrow. Where were you with this on Monday.
Well that was much easier than expected. If you were in it last year, an email invite was sent to whatever email account you used last year. If new, or forgot email account: https://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/bowl/group/16156/join?P=mounties

Group ID = 16156
Password = mounties

I think we wait till teams are determined. Looking at how to play and then more info, we can change picks and confidence values up to 5 minutes before kickoff.

Copy/paste:
Confidence points in College Bowl Pick'em
Confidence points are used to give a different weight to all the games in the college bowl season. You'll assign a unique point value from 1 to the total number of bowl games based on how strongly you feel about the accuracy of your selection.

If your selection is correct, you'll receive points equal to the confidence point value you associated with that game.

So, if you pick Team "A" to beat Team "B", assign the game a confidence point value of 25, and Team "A" wins, you'd get 25 points for the correct pick, but no points if Team "B" wins. You don't lose points for an incorrect selection.

For each game, choose who you think will win and then assign your confidence points to the game using the drop-down on the right.

Adjust confidence points
Not feeling as confident as you were when you created your picks? No problem! We've got 2 ways you can change them before the games start.

Drag and Drop
This is the default method.

With Drag and Drop, you can change a game's confidence level by sliding that game's row to a new point value. The confidence points for all other games will adjust automatically.

Classic
If you'd rather view games in date order, or if you don't have JavaScript enabled, you can edit your confidence values by switching to Classic mode.

All confidence points are pre-selected in Classic mode, so choose a blank value from a game's drop down list to make those points available for another game.

Each confidence point value can only be used once. So if there are 35 bowl games and you've assigned 35 points to your most confident game, your next highest available value will be 34 points, etc.

My picks are now in.....wasn't aware there was actually Web-based spaghetti available to be thrown against a Web-based wall until I made them.

BTW, since I've conclusively proven in the past to be so singularly miserable at this, I was wondering ahead of time there were any prizes (aside from that peek under Doom's jock) for picking all 41 wrong ??

Sorry to be such a pest, but on my Picks, under status, it says "Incomplete". Does anyone else's say this?

If you can't post a screen shat, describe where you are seeing status. I remember seeing that on weekly pick'em. For now, I'm just getting submit or cancel. I've only made six picks. Once I hit submit, the submit button goes inactive until I add or change a pick or change rankings. When I bring the page back up through favorites, it has saved my current picks. Keep playing with it. Good luck.

side note: A lot of tight looking matchups this year. It's going to take a lucky SOB to win this, imo.

When you log into Yahoo, then click on Picks and Groups, it shows my entry with the column headings Rank, Correct Picks, Points, Possible Points, Status. Of course it has a dash under every column heading except for Status, under it it says Incomplete.
When I picked the winner of the Cotton Bowl and Orange Bowl, it didn't auto populate the fields for the CFP Championship game. Did it for anyone else? It still says TBD for the teams on mine. And when I try to enter the score for the Tie Breaker Score for the CFP Championship Game, it won't enter the numbers.

The Championship game and points are unavailable for entry. It will open up once the playoff games are played and the teams for the Ch. game is known. So, place a point value for the Ch. game without picking a winner at this point and on Jan 1t, you will be able to make your selection. Make sure you Submit Picks before leaving the site. You can always readjust your selections for the yet to be played games until they start.

Well, evidently you can't join late. I have picks but it won't allow me to submit. Looks like I'm out this year.
Are you sure? I think you're just chicken. It will let me add a 2nd entry, so let me know if you want me to fill it out.

I've already got 38, 25, and 18 point losers in the first 5 games......including the Vegas Bowl, where I originally had Utah (at 38) but stupidly changed at the last minute after reading one of the ESPN "experts" say BYU had more to play for. So at 6th place, I'm probably as close to first place today as I'm going to get.

Everyone else worried about finishing last better clear the track for COOL MAN still has no clue......

Damn bama....how do you have the balls to put such point values on these early bowl games? Do you really know these teams?

It is working for you. If i would just leave my picks and point values alone, i would be better. Gotta quit letting info i hear affect my picks.

Pickem is up in the air right now. Cool man made a big jump yesterday and Countryroads, Bru, and Doom have a lot of potential points.

I've got 41 (Tech) and 39 (San Jose State) point wins already, but losses at 40 (Cincinnati) and 38 (BYU).....in other words, my four highest point total games are already dead. You can see how my max possible points are already well in excess of 100 fewer than pretty much everyone else in the derby.

Obviously, picking Cincinnati to win........and worse, at 40......was about as dumb pick as one could make (especially since I thought Tuberville might actually have his team ready to prove something coming off their very disappointing regular season). I also mentioned previously I'd originally picked Utah over BYU at 38, but changed at the last minute. Why I didn't drop that one further down the list when I made the change is something I can't explain, especially because (for some reason) I really liked Utah to begin with.

I'm also not sure why I didn't have Boise State (32) at least a half dozen positions higher, since I honestly expected them to roll over what I thought might be a somewhat over-matched NIU. And unfortunately, three of my current winners were all below 10 point games (Washington-8, WKU-5, La Tech-2) because all were simply wild guesses. I seriously doubt you'll see me any higher than I am today.

It would have helped me if IU had found a way to beat a beatable Duke in the Pinstripe, and I know I'm not the only one who got his heart ripped out by Ohio U's (lack of) defense last weekend. But while I didn't see much of the game.....and honestly got way overconfident with the 2Q score (and ignored the game the rest of the way).....it might be argued I was fortunate for Tech to have held on against Tulsa.

Anyway, unless I'm opposite just about everyone from picks 28-37 (with 8 of those games still to be played), I'm headed down the standings beginning tomorrow......perhaps way down.

Getting interesting now...I've got a lead but most of you have more potential points. This one's about to get really tight.

I decided to simplify this year. Doing each pick on the day of bowl. Of course, my dumbass forgot to pick a few of the very early ones. But I'm also not changing up points. I'm leaving it as it is which means I'll have like 41 points on the National Championship Game, haha. Go big or go home! Just less stressful, I hate digging around and seeing which games I should lay down more confidence points. Just unnecessary extra stress.

I've solidified my last place position with yesterday's performance. So, I've undertaken the George Costanza theory on life, I just reversed my picks for the today's games.

I'm toast. I missed Baylor and UNC for 31 points. I thought surely to god the 2nd place ACC team could beat Baylor with their 4th string QB. The ACC sucks! VT barely hung on to beat Tulsa.

I too was sold on UNC over Baylor. That one is leaving a mark.

I haven't done the math, but I don't think the championship game points figure in possible points since that game isn't picked yet. Anyone done the math and figure it out?

I'm at 50%, or the coin flip mentality. I guess my picks are substantiating the old adage, "You can picks friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your fiends' noses."

I switched to UNC yesterday morning [banana]

Your point value for the CFP Championship game.....like any other game yet to be played.....is simply wherever it sits on your list at kickoff (and which you're free to move around to any available numerical position in advance of kickoff).

But regardless where it's positioned among games still to be played, its value (relative to the rest of your selections) is already represented in your "possible points" . For example, if you picked (on Day 1) the Cactus Bowl at #1 and the CFP at #41......and made no other positional changes anywhere on the list......those two games are still only worth a combined 42 points. You're free to switch the numerical position of these two games any time until kickoff, but the theoretical value of the two games combined remains 42 points max..

The CFP is simply the one game for which you couldn't pick a winner on Day 1; but your team selection (available by the time the ball drops in NYC on Friday morning) has zero bearing on your current possible max point value. Does that properly respond to your question ??
