Yep.

Thinking Cignetti could take Bama's team at half and come out and win by double digits.

This has been an absolute coaching clinic. His team is supremely prepared, and are always where they need to be to make plays while their offensive play calling is top notch maximizing their talent.
When we joined the Big Ten could you have imagined someone saying "Well, just wait, Indiana is really going to turn it on and be #1"

Unreal.

Wow- IU elite coaching does matter. They are always so well prepared and have answers almost all the time. How good is Bama this year?

Indiana just ********** Alabama so far. Wow.

Looking at Cignetti on the sidelines, it's notable that he doesn't look like a clown.

Come to think of it, Lanning didn't look like a clown earlier today either.

Also noted that they don't do **** like waste timeouts constantly due to personnel confusion, their defenders are almost always in position (even if they get beat) and tackling fundamentals are absolutely rock solid.

Things that reflect attention to detail.

There is probably no relation.

I did an AI search of quotes by Nebraska players that said Matt Rhule made them a better player or praised his leadership style. Also did the same for Curt Cignetti.

I can tell you both questions came up with no eresults for Matt Rhule. Curt Cignetti had a few 😊.
Well results do matter ha.

What are you talking about? Rhule turned his hat around - he was locked in.

Wait!?!

A back up quarterback comes in and actually has Alabama moving down the field for the first time?

Very interesting…

Cigs is THE REASON you fire your coach when you are not getting the results you want.

Because it is out there. I would rather try again then stick with what is lame, like iowa did for 30 years year.

So, the bama coach gave up when he went for the FG because he knows they can't win but getting shut out would have been grounds for firing and he knew that.

Dude is literally holding on by a thread at Bama.

I wish we could trust the people that make the choice/decision. But I have almost zero confidence in that process.
I mean, hiring is hard, it is why most people that do hiring/firing are morons but it is not really their fault it is just that most people suck at it.

People try so hard when it comes to hiring but they don't need to do that. They just start to out-think themselves. What about Rhule screamed "Must Hire", literally nothing. But as the person doing the hiring, you start to talk yourself into it.

Anyone that does hiring knows that they are bad at it and they also know when they do hire someone good, it was probably just dumb luck.

It’s looking pretty likely that all four teams in the semifinals will have head coaches who coached under Nick Saban. It’s not only incredible what he did in his coaching career, but the results of his mentorship are damn impressive.
That’s amazing

Too many on here scared to keep trying until you get it right
YES!

I am a HUGE Bo fan and I do personally think that with NIL he would do even better...with that said, most fans turned on him, which is fine, because he didn't win enough and he didn't want to French Kiss the fans.

But then we have these dorks that still defend Rhule. Rhule is worse than Bo...Bo was honest. Matt tells us what we want to here and pretends like he loves being here.

I think he does kind of look like a clown on the sideline but winning makes it ok

I imagine if their players F up and don’t do what they are supposed to they ride the pine, no matter who it is. Cignetti doesn’t take any **** and shows. He’s not ***** like our used car salesman of a coach. Good for IU

Someone has to try this don’t they?
I wonder if a few schools did try a few months ago.

The ONLY issue might be his age??? I don't know, who knows. I know what he has done is amazing and it makes me jealous that NU is not looking for a coach.

I get the frustration and flat out being PO'd off at Rhule with our crappy 3 seasons, but all this complaining about his backwards hat, licking lips, spitting, tugging at his shirt, etc makes no sense to me.

If he were winning like Cig, then none of you would care one iota about the stuff mentioned above.

Ha.. I made a joke about it but honestly I got the lip licking from this board… I don’t actually recall any lip licking when watching games but apparently someone has noticed LOL

I just watched a video of a Husker player who has been here for 4 years comment on how much the culture has improved and how much harder they work.
