So, assuming we don’t crap the bed vs NIU, who are our 2 SEC wins?

Florida & Arkansas? Egg Bowl upset?

Best chances are at Florida, at Arkansas, Mississippi. Maybe at Missouri. I think we'll probably get one of those. Not sure I see 2 though.

Arkansas could be a shoot out, but possible. Tough in Fayetteville
Florida if Lagway plays like he did against LSU.
UM could be a shoot out but its on the beautiful turf of Scott Field!
But....Texas...(I know, I know).... is not as scary as it once was.
We shall see, but first....dont throw up this Saturday against NIU....

The Texas game is an interesting one… we’re a little better than I thought we would be and they’re a lot worse. I’m not saying that there’s enough difference there to beat them, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that game is still at least a game in the 4th quarter, especially if we can get them at night.

Here are the SEC games and possible time slots for that day:

I haven’t looked at any other conferences.

Texas has given up 31 points in 3 games, with 14 of those at Ohio St. We won't be running receivers past their secondary all day when we play them. And their offense can't continue to be this bad, can it? Seems like we've been asking that question for a year and a half now though.

Arkansas is a terrible matchup for us. Green is nightmare fuel for Hutzler.
Florida's defense won't allow us to have explosive plays and we haven't demonstrated the ability to sustain long drives.
UM is a wildcard because it's the egg bowl.
Mizzou, I could squint and see it, but it's on the road.
We just aren't beating UGA, TX, TN, or A&M.

Maybe we sneak an upset somewhere. I think we actually will. But the fact is we will probably be underdogs in every SEC game we play, and I still don't see bowl eligibility. I'll hope for it, I'll root for it, and I'll keep going to games and yelling my arse off like I always do. But I'm also rooted in reality.

I wish we had Texas this week or next week. They are ripe for an upset. I could see us beating them at home. They're just not that good with Arch at QB. He has the yips bad right now. If he works it out, or they change QBs before our game, then I think it's out of reach. But right now? I would like our chances.

But, yes, the other 3 you listed are probably our best chances right now.

I see no scenario where we beat Texas. They're good enough defensively to take away what we like to do offensively. I frankly don't think it matters whether their offense is any good or not

I see it the same way. After this weekend, we won't be favored in any remaining games. Could we get an upset or two? Yeah. But I still see 6 wins as more unlikely than likely. To start the season, my benchmark for success was 4-5 wins, competitive in other games, and defense that wasn't a complete trainwreck. It's looking so far like this will be a successful season, regardless of whether we go to a bowl.

I mean… we’ve only given up 37. It’s tough to use SJSU and UTEP as measuring sticks. Ohio State’s offense hasn’t been spectacular either outside Grambling. They didn’t pull away from Ohio until the 4th quarter.

I dunno. I’m just not a believer in Texas right now. I think we lose that game, but I think it could be close.

Arch is pretty bad. He didn't really play well against us last year either, considering how bad we were.

Also, what universe is Kansas State making a bowl game? They won't win another game I don't think. They are turrible.

Let's take care of NIU before speculating on bowl bids. NIU has a history of beating superior opponents. They will come in here thinking Toledo did it last year so why not us?
Yeah, and we have a history of losing to inferior opponents. I don't think we lose to them but need to take care of business so we don't.

Do you plan on giving your game plan for NIU to Coach Lebby? Are we doing a walk through today or tomorrow? I need to know so I can determine how my personal actions are going to change the outcome of how our football team plays on Saturday.

Chances of winning at home against TX and OM are very good. Very good.

We can definitely beat FL. They've about quit already.

We can beat ARK and we should.

And we may beat Tennessee. We're getting 8 wins.

Yes, I've already dropped it off with Coach. Walk through and player group meetings are tomorrow. You can take it easy and have another beer, I got this for you.

I have seen this before. We come back to earth either this weekend or against Tenn. Not Ready For Prime Time just yet.

TN, Arkansas, and Georgia are gonna destroy us. I would say A&M too, but we give them fits for some reason. Gotta find 2 out of the other 4. Possible. Maybe not likely.

Tennessee is going to beat us like a drum. We will give Arkansas and Georgia a good game. You never know what's gonna happen when we play Texas A&M.

Sadly, the reality is most teams we think we have a decent shot at this year will manage to have someone put up career numbers against us. TN lighting up our secondary and Arkansas running wild up and down the field are legit scenarios.

I believe in our team, but to be perfectly honest... we played out of our minds against Az. St. and they almost took that game away from us.

I'll feel better if we can consistently show we know how to make halftime adjustments and can minimize the injuries.

Look - we're 3 games into the season and we're 3-0. I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts - a bowl game would be gravy, but I'll be OK with just having some hope after halftime in most of our SEC games. That would be movement in the right direction from last year.
