This guy, Brad Crawford, with 247 doesn't have an SEC team in Music City, Texas, or Birmingham Bowl.
Are these not SEC tie-ins anymore?

FWIW, he's got MSU in Gator Bowl vs. Penn St. And a shocker: Arkansas in Liberty.

Haven’t looked at his projections at all, but with all the early non-conference losses/upsets, I do not think the SEC is likely to fill all the spots this year. Or that guy could just not know the tie-ins.

It's because the bottom half of the SEC is wretched.

ole miss, Arkansas, Missou, Vandy, USCe, and UT all look awful (and he even has Arkansas in a bowl game).

Then, he has a **** ton of SEC teams in NY6 bowls - Florida, LSU, Alabama, UGA.

If all of that holds, you have 5 teams - Auburn, aTm, MSU, Arkansas (yuck), Kentucky (the least ****** bad team in the east) lined up for 9 bowl games (Citrus, Liberty, Belk, Music City, Outback, Gator, Texas, Independence, Birmingham. So Auburn or aTm to Citrus. Ind and Birm are a lower tier, so that's out. The other 4 teams go to 4 of the 6 remaining bowls.

Granted, it's way too early, and I wouldn't be shocked if at least 1 of UGA, LSU, or Florida find a way to fall short of NY6, or if one more team in the east claws it's way back to 6.
