Even in the worst case scenario (1 in the BCS and a loss today), we should be battling a 7-5 team that we beat, a 6-6 team that we beat, and a 6-6 team for the Music City Bowl. Plus, UK has been there the last several years. I could see Memphis wanting us due to geography and Nashville wanting to get Georgia or UT at 6-6. That would suck. If we lose and Florida loses and the SEC gets two in the BCS, the Gator and Peach are both going to have to take 7 win teams, which could only be us, Florida, and UK. I think there is a decent chance in that scenario that we still go to ATL and the Gator wants and gets Florida.

If USCe loses to Clemson today and also loses in the SEC champ game, the Outback might make a play for Arkansas. The Cotton Bowl is concerned because Arkansas played in Jerry World earlier this season against aTm. In that case, would the Cotton Bowl take USCe at 8-5 or MSU at 8-5 (if we win)? Long story short, if we win and USCe loses, we are still not out of it for the Cotton.
Also, I heard that MSU is really not interested in the Liberty Bowl and would explore all other options before signing to play there.

Edit to add: The Ark to Outback scenario also assumes that Florida loses to Fla St.

There is probablynot a single State fan living outside of Memphis that wants the Liberty against the same team we played in it 3 years ago. That is just flat out NOT exciting for anyone. I think a UK or UT versus Central Florida would be a nice shake up instead of the same ole same ole.
That being said, no matter what bowl we get will be a sell out within 2 hours.

It's a crap game. I want to go somewhere else against a better opponent. That's why tonight's game is so huge.

First, the SEC is now guaranteed two BCS games. Boises's loss means three BCS conferences will have a second team (no one can have three), The Big 12 has played its way out of this, so the Big 10, the PAC 10 and the SEC are basically guaranteed slots.

So
BCS - Auburn
BCS - LSU
Capital One - Ark/Alabama
Cotton - Ark/Alabama (gets first choice on the West after Capital One)
Outback - USC/Fla
Peach - USC/Fla - win or lose I believe they take Fla over us if Fla beats FSU. Our only chance here is a victory today for us and a Fla loss vs FSU
Gator is next and we are in above anyone else left on the board. Even with a loss the only competition would be a Ky team that beat Tennessee. I also don;t see that happening...
A bad loss could drop us to Music City.... maybe. But we still have a better record than anyone on the board.

that if we win will be going to Atlanta, peach bowl officials have been scouting us for 6 weeks now. Music City is getting a hard on for UT and understandably so. I think UK ends up in Memphis. Now the LSU, Arkansas, SC scenario will depend on what happens in LR today and in the SEC championship game. All we will really know after today is that if we win we will more than likely be in Atlanta for New Years.

With 2 in the BCS, I don't see us dropping below the Music City even with a loss today. I'm thinking win= Peach, loss = Gator or Music City.

pretty clear they want MSU. Even Chris Lowe talked about how this year MSU is a much more attractive option for Peach than Florida. MSU will bring more fans the shorter distance in a great year for us that Florida will haul up to Atlanta in what they consider a down year. I know as MSU fans we are used to thinking some other team is always more attractive but that is just not the case this year. 10 straight sell outs makes an impression.

As a reward for a good year, it's almost a slap in the face to playthe CUSA champ instead of getting someone from the ACC. If we got Chic-fil-a, we would get the 2nd place ACC team most likely, which is a lot better game than getting UCF or SMU. Chic-fil-a probably gets the loser of the ACC championship game, which if NC State wins today, the ACC Championship would be between VA Tech and NC St. I would gladly take the loser of that game over the CUSA champ any day. I just pray we win today and the Liberty Bowl talk becomes irrelevant.

But Hanmu you are right. Whatever bowl we get, it will be sold out pretty quickly.
