They was my worry coming into this game. Could we block long enough to pass. We did get a couple of shots. We dropped s couple and overthrew others probably due to rush or just Shapen getting too rushed in his head. We ran the ball a lot better than I expected. I didn't like some of the play calling sequences that just seemed like wasted downs at the worst times.

that was one best game losses we have had in a few years. The effort was there. 60 new players. They played hard to last down. I feel like defense has been much better this year. Not hard to say that because we were so bad. Good turn overs tonight. We just couldn't get one when I mattered or get a stop tonight when it mattered. Usually lock down kicker missed. But I was encouraged we sustained drives mixing run and pass and would score if we didn't shoot outselves in the foot and back way up or call a bad sequence or Shapen threw a duck.

What does this tell you?

I think it’s on the pass blocking. We won the TO battle. We know Shapen is accurate. We ran the ball. Penalties even. We still lost.

You have to pass block. Or maybe it means their DL was better than ours.
I took a nap and sobered up some and was just looking at this too. My thoughts rn are that we were definitely not the more talented team. We benefited from a few things: Timely UT drops in that cut drives short, very solid rush defense and good positioning had had us in the right spot to make plays on two bad throws. Had UT played a clean game we probably loose in regulation. Having said that, while we weren’t the better team we did not play an A game either - beyond the abomination that was our pas pro we missed on some big plays - Thompson dropped deep ball. Swatted slant where we had the man beat but Shapen threw it right through the dt for a LOS swat, numerous penalties that set us behind the chains. All in all I feel like the only truly glaring spots where were far worse than them was QB and o line.

I think that's football. Hardly any team is gonna play perfect. They had 3 turnovers we scored I think off of two they score two off of two. They got a questionable pi that called a td back. But it was a close game all the way too the end. To be competitive and be in the spot to win is what we have been asking for. Against a team that went to ot with uga just a week ago. So I feel good that we are where we need to be. We did what we needed to win against asu. They are still a good team. We just didn't make the few plays at the end we needed to. Shapen made some bad throws. Lebby made some bad calls at the end but for the most part we did well. I'm very pleased that we could run on them. I think Thompson being out for a while hurt us in the 4th. Took away that other threat to cover deep for them.

Next time we build our starting O line through the portal in April, our fans should probably be a little more concerned than they were this past Spring
We rushed for 189 yards. It’s not like our o line is garbage.
Is it great? No but it’s pretty damn decent considering what you said.

We had one player, Fluff, that had a good game offensively yesterday. I agree that that the line isn’t garbage, but it’s also not good, and multiple whiffs on the left side cost us dearly yesterday

Our line is average at best. Our success running the ball comes from running off tackle or the rb bouncing and making something out of nothing. We are bad at pass blocking.

Our run blocking was above average yesterday against a quality team. Even if it was allowing running backs to bounce outside

Running back*

Booth had 17 carries for 3.4 yds/carry
Shapen had -20 yds

Fluff was the only player that had a good game on the entire offense

It’s easier to run block. But passing kills. That’s why we lost yesterday even while outgaining them on the ground AND winning the turnovers.

Most of you guys are ridiculous. Over half of yall didn't even predict 4 wins before the season started. And now the team is trash cause they lost in OT against a top tier SEC team. Talk about Jekyl and Hyde.

74 is not enjoying film session. He is one of the main reasons we lost.

You can be stupid all you want. Our line blocked above average running the ball.

shapens -20 was due to 5 sacks.
