Interesting. Y'all think Lindgren is hurt or we are just sitting him b/c of the way he has pitched the past few weeks.
I think it's a matchup thing. Lindgren doesn't match up well with a team of right handers that crowd the plate and are aggressive on the base paths. I think if this were South Alabama...Lindgren would be starting.
It's either this or the Coaches have lost all confidence in him. But this matchup really doesn't favor his pitching style.
I think he matches up well on everyone. Earlier this year when we were winning the coaches we not pulling all this stuff we were just going out and beating teams.
Seems to me that UCA has been doing a pretty decent job against right handers lately. I would have went with Lindgren cause maybe something different would be the trick.
Don't know about the coaches, but I've lost all confidence in lindgren. It sucks because he was lights out at the beginning of the year. I'd rather he sit until next year if we are lucky enough to keep playing and hope we can get his head screwed back on straight for 2014.
In what way? Look, I like Lindgren too, and he should be our ACE next year...but don't let your love of Lindgren get in the way of reality. Lindgren has not done well in a while. Plus, we always play ****** D behind him, and he implodes with runners on base. Those are all recipes for disaster against this team. His slider that he tries to strike RH hitters out with, will do nothing but lead to HBP against a team like UCA that crowds the plate.
If anything, we should maybe try him out of the pen.
He strikes more people out, he walks less people than Bracewell. Their main threat is Allday a left handed batter. Like Todd said, the last thing they want to see is a power arm like JL. What the 17 does it hurt to start him and have BB ready if needed when JL's the obvious best we have to offer.

By the way, where did the OP in this thread hear that Bracewell was starting? He is the only one saying that...nobody has confirmed our pitcher in the media yet. Are we sure Lindgren isn't starting?
Someone also just text me and said Lindgren was starting. He has a few connects on the team, but he also could've have read it here.
I agree. I just hope if we start Lindgren we don't use that loser Ross Mitchell in relief. If these other idiots would keep up with Lindgren's SIERRA Mist rating then they would know he is the perfect starter for tonight.

Guy has had a tough year. First his ankle, then his shoulder. Wasn't it Ole Miss where Lindgren only went one inning before his shoulder conche'd out and Holder had to throw in relief without warming up?
He was set to be our ace this year. It's definitely not a confidence issue.
