Ok, let's talk some NCAA tournament basketball. It would take forever to look over everyone's bracket, sooooo....

Name your:
1) Overall Winner (and runner-up)
2) Final Four
3) Non top 4-seeded teams in the Sweet 16
4) Team that you like for some irrational reason
5) First Round Upsets
6) Anything else i missed

I'll start-
1) Louisville (Miami)
2) Louisville, New Mexico, VCU, and Miami
3) VCU and UNLV
4) I love VCU (probably because I'm still waiting for him to take our head coaching position)
5) I have MTSU over Memphis, Ole Miss over Wisconsin, Iowa State over Notre Dame, Montana over Syracuse, Minnesota over UCLA, and South Dakota State over Michigan

Go.

I'll start
1) Miami (Louisville)
2) Miami, Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan
3) Wisconsin, Butler, Oklahoma, North Carolina
4) Oklahoma, because I always liked Osby and I have his full maroon uniform
5) Not including 8-9s, Belmont over Arizona, Cal over UNLV, Colorado over Illinois, Oklahoma over SDSU, Cincinnati over Creighton, MTSU over Memphis.
6) I have Kansas as the first #1 seed going out in the second round to UNC. North Carolina has been playing well, and Kansas doesn't have a point guard.

Tournament is wide open. Anybody can win the thing. Louisville is the weakest #1 overall I've seen in a while. I think either Kansas or Duke will end up winning it.

Any other prediction would just be guessing on my end.

What does everyone like about G-town so much? And what makes y'all think they can beat Florida, Kansas,
Etc.?

1. Ohio State
2. Michigan St, Ohio State, Kansas, Miami
3. St. Louis, Wisconsin, VCU, NC State
4. I like St. Louis...great team basketball. Oklahoma bc of Romero. VCU bc they scrap. Hate OSU and Thad Matta so I think they win it all.
5. Oregon over Okla St, MTSU/St Mary's winner over Memphis, Wichita over Pitt, SDState over Michigan, Minnesota over UCLA, Bucknell over Butler

6. I have Louisville being upset by St Louis, and Indiana losing to NC State, as my first #1's to lose. Pretty risky since many have those two going all the way. I don't care though, I am the least interested that I've ever been.

Re: 6. Those are about as safe as it gets when calling upsets of number 1. My deal with Louisville is that I think it'll take a REALLY solid team with an even more solid player to beat them. I don't see that on their road to the Final 4.

1) Lousville (Florida)
2) Louisville, Florida, Indiana, Gonazaga
3) Wisconsin
4) Pittsburgh (8 seed. Wouldn't be shocked to see them upset Gonzaga)
5) Colorado over Illinois. Minnesota over UCLA. (Not including 9 seeds beating 8 seeds)

I didn't set out to put Butler in the Final 4, but they seem like a likely winner over Bucknell, Davidson (I think 14-3 upset is likely), and Miami. Could go either way with Butler vs. Indiana, but I give the nod to Brad Stevens.

Miami is so good, man. Have you watched them play this year? They have like 5-6 seniors on their squad.

Pretty much every computer ranking that looks beyond simple wins and losses says that Miami is not as good as its record suggests and is probably the most likely of the 1 and 2 seeds to fall early.

Is there a SPS pool on ESPN or Yahoo out there? If not, there should be, for bragging rights and all that.

2. Too many to name

1) Florida (Louisville)
2) Florida, Louisville, Indiana, Ohio St.
3) VCU & Butler
4) Kansas St. & Butler but not for any irrational reason. They play their first two games SUPER close to their campus.
5) Belmont over Arizona

I think it's going to go the other way. Instead of being "wide open," I think it's pretty much a chalk year. The only teams I really see doing something crazy are teams like VCU, Butler & Syracuse...who either press, grind, or zone you and take you out of your comfort zone.

EDIT: I actually filled out two brackets. Both identical except in one Louisville beats Florida & vice versa in the other. Gotta hedge your bets.
