That's an interesting chart. There is a case to be made for Nebraska to be a #2 instead of UCONN. And the fact that they went 2-1 against Illinois and MSU (two of the other #2) should also get strong consideration. I think NU gets dinged a bit with what turned out to be a very weak OOC schedule, but that is to the point of splitting hairs.

A #2 seed could still happen if Nebraska were to reach the B1G Tournament Final. Perhaps even just a win over Purdue on Friday and early exits in conference tournaments by the other contenders (they'd likely have to face Purdue and win...If its Indiana or NW, that likely won't change much.)

I've read many times that the conference tournaments for the majors don't sway things too much....but like I said, when we are to the point of splitting hairs, you take any edge you can.

I think Houston team E gets the most undeserved love. Followed by UConn. If North Carolina had the same exact resume as Nebraska they’d be a two seed imo

Yeah I think a 3 is locked up. Just hope OKC so easy trip for the fans
I think we'll be a darling either way, so I think the #2 is still better than a closer site. Anyone from another team that isn't on board with getting behind us is going to watch about 30 seconds of Sam and be on their feet cheering for us. Long-winded way of saying I hope we get the easiest bracket, among the 3's, not closest site.

We can really only benefit from the Big 10 tourney, right? One and done and we are a #3? Win a couple and #2 is in play?

Depends on how the other teams do. If we go 1-and-done in the Big Ten Tourney, we could drop. Especially if Kansas, Texas Tech, Alabama, Virginia, Purdue, Gonzaga, etc. make it to their conference championships, they could pass us.

Win Friday and we should be guaranteed a 3-seed. Win Saturday and I think a 2-seed is possible.

If Nebraska wins 2 more in the Big 10 they will have 11 Quad 1 wins and would be one of 5 teams with 10+ Quad 1 wins with 0 bad losses they would be a lock at a 2 by the committee standards

Drop to a 4 seed? No way. Purdue is still barely a 3 - they can’t go one and done. Bama needs to get to finals to maybe get to the three line. Gonzaga must win their ****** conf to stay on the 3. Virginia has a weak schedule and must beat duke to get into the conversation . Texas tech must win the big 12 to get to the conversation as well.

in other words - NU has a 97% chance at a 3 seed even at 0-1 in the B1G tourney

Thanks!

I feel like OKC is a bit more "husker friendly" maybe? Where more Husker fans would attend?

I don't know.

I have gone to KC and Omaha for March Madness and it was a blast BUT they didn't serve beer!!!!!
I lived in OKC (Bricktown) awesome city - yes, way more husker friendly

Sam is so over-hyped. He plays hard, and plays smart, but we need someone, anyone, that can get their own shot.

Sam gets to the rim for layups as much as anyone on the team.
More. Seems to always get open for a couple of layups out of system every game. The contributions we got this year from Sam and Jacobsen were amazing. Never would have expected how good Jacobsen has been. Not sure how they’ll translate in the tourney but we’re not in the tourney without those two guys.

Yeah. What a dud. Leads the country in assist/to margin and is top 30 in steals per game.
My response was to someone saying the country will fall in love with Sam. Unless they start playing better, the country won't get to see him.

He's fine. He's smart and plays hard, but you have to have people that can create some space. Our guards can not do that. At all.

He's not perfect, but this team is built on the sum of the parts, not individual NBA talent. Sam's an elite defender with versatility.

The country is going to see him the first round regardless, and I'm planning on us advancing. So, yes, I think the country and regional will fall in love with him. First time he jumps a pass and takes it back for a sweet underhand reverse layup, no one in the crowd will be thinking they wish that guy could create space like Kobe. They will be thinking damn this team is fun to watch.

Bottom line, site is less important than the bracket draw, IMO. I think we will bring a lot of fans no matter where we're at.

I hear what you what’re saying. I’d rather be a two seed in buffalo vs this 3 seed in OkC which I’m seeing a lot. if we survive and advance to sweet 16 would have to play Houston in Houston which would be brutal

2 seed is virtually always a better draw regardless of location. Still comes down to matchups and how the zebras call the game.

Would they really send Houston to Houston for the Sweet 16? That seems pretty unfair, especially for the 1-seed they would get matched up with.

Winning Friday is more important than a lot of people think. If we make it to the CCG on Sunday Huskers have a good shot at a 2 seed.

More than anything I think this team has earned the 3 seed how Virginia is rated ahead of us in the AP, their two losses are to Butler and Virginia Tech.

Well last year Houston was a #1 seed had to play 4-seed Purdue in Indianapolis in the Sweet 16. I'm no Houston fan, but them getting to play a regional final in Houston would be no less fair that that draw.

He does not have the length, athleticism to be an elite defender. Again, he is a good defender, but he is scaring no one on close outs.

No doubt we need a good draw.

Yeah that's true, though Purdue is not in the city of Indianapolis, but it is very close.

Having to essentially play a road game against Houston in the Sweet 16 would be tough. I am hoping they put us in the Chicago region.

I believe the committee has a very good idea of how the top seeds will shake out. The conference tournaments will have some impact, but not much. A bad loss on Friday combined with some other teams winning maaaaybe drops us to 4. Winning two games this weekend along with some other teams losing early maaaybe gets us a 2 but I think we need to win it all to get there.

Basically, unless we win the Big Ten tournament, I think we can expect a 3-seed.

Sam is an elite college defender. Very good on the ball, crazy good off the ball, and a very good rebounder for a guard.
Made the all-defensive team as voted on by coaches. That's a top 5 defender in the Big 10.

Sounds like USA Today writers also had him finishing 2nd for defensive player of the year.

You have to be little better than just above average or good to be recognized like that.

I wish we were headed to Tampa or San Diego, but looks like OKC. Driveable for most. Was hoping for somewhere I could go fishing on the off day.

He plays 5” taller than he is. You may want to update your research if you don’t think Sam is an elite athlete.

No, I'm good. He is physical, very smart, and has good hands. The guy's foot speed is average, and he can't jump.
