Lunardi has Kentucky and Ole Miss in the last 4 in. Has Bama as 8th on the outside and Tennessee outside of that. Only Florida is a guarantee and Mizzou is nervous but in.

No freaking way does Ole Miss deserve a bid with an RPI of 60 and a SOS of 130ish and no real marquee wins. I think Lunardi is off on that one.

Hell we were more deserving the last three years than they are now.

They are trying to get three teams in from the SEC. The third will be Kentucky and fourth winner of SEC tournament if not Gators, Tigers, or Wildcats. NO Bear!

He should know better than that. Despite what many think, the committe really does look at each team individually and not at how many teams from X conference got bids. The ACC is generally considered one of the top conference in the country every year, but there have been years they only got 3 teams in. This year's SEC is a lot worse than those years' ACC was. I think 2 bids is likely and only 1 is possible.

Not very often ...

Sorry, but please check again; the years when they get less than 4 teams are few and far between. The ACC & Big East have 'historically' been the chosen conferences. They have the titles BUT they also get more teams than they deserve just because of their name.

The ACC got five teams last year and they have ALWAYS had at least FOUR teams EVERY year over the past 33 except twice. And, that includes some 40, 48, 52 & 53 total teams in the tournament years.

OM has Bama at home and is @ LSU + SECT; it's way too early to count them IN or OUT; historically, I would bet NIT if I gambled

In 1999 and in 2000, the ACC only got 3 bids. The field was 64 both years. My statement was correct.

Congratulations!!

Bingo! You just picked the ONLY two years that the ACC had less than 4 team out of the LAST 33. Twice in 33 years is an EXCEPTION, not the rule. And, you are still wrong.

You might want to go back and read what I posted. I never said the ACC getting only 3 teams in was the rule, or even that it happened often. I just said that there have been years that they only got 3 teams in. I'm not sure why you're taking issue with that statement.

I think Espn likes the "white kid" underdog story. Being that he is in the "super athletic" SEC makes it even more intriguing. When MHenderson gets hot, he has the ability to take over a game. Much like Seth Curry. Not comparing the two athletes, comparing similar situations, all or nothing type teams. If ole miss wins their last two games and he steps up with a few big games in the SEC tourny, I can see them getting in on the entertainment factor alone.

Just to show the difference ...

In 1999 and in 2000, the ACC only got 3 bids. The field was 64 both years. My statement was correct.

Here is the list for the last 12 years of # of ACC teams invited and # with a winning ACC record. (They expanded in '05 & '06) It shows that 11 ACC teams in 12 years made the NCAAT that did not have a 'winning record in the ACC.' In the same 12 years, how many SEC teams made the NCAAT without a 'winning SEC record?'
