So we will get Kentucky, Maryland, or Mich St. Surprised Minn is hosting.
I wasn't surprised about Minnesota eve though they had lost their only tournament game. I figured that in meant something that thry finished top 4 in their conference and they were Top 10 in the NET. I was concerned about Maryland and Michigan St. Both Kentucky and Ole Miss had double digits losses. Now that think I about it, Somebody out of Baylor, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan St. and Ole Miss is going to be a 6th seed.

If Kentucky is the 5 seed to Carolina's 4, then that means they won't have to possibly face South Carolina or Texas in Sweet 16.

Yeah if we end up in UConn’s bracket we will definitely get an SEC team whereas if we get UofSC’s bracket we will get a B1G team.

I can see that happening. They put Oregon in the same region last season with Carolina because of Deja Kelly. I can see them putting TCU and Notre Dame in the same region if TCU is 3 and Notre Dame is a 6.
The NCAA denies any of that impacts their brackets... and I have some oceanfront property for sale in Oklahoma if anyone believes that.

They put Louisville two years in the row in the same bracket that former Louisvile player Hailey Van Lith was. If State is a 7 seed, I expect them to play 2 seed Vanderbilt. If you know, you know.

UNC, Cuse and ND in same bracket, though pretty unlikely we will see each other

Wow. This bracket. Vanderbilt as the 2 seed with UConn. Talk about setting up the storyline with Shea and Geno.

I’ve kind of half jokingly been already predicting that Geno will retire after this year if he gets the Natty and that they’ll hire Shea now that she’s proven she can win at the highest level. And… there’s a scenario where Shea could bring Mikayla Blakes and Galvan with her. Imagine that…the top two players in the National Player of the Year race in Strong and Blakes and SEC freshman of the year in Galvan. If so, just dial up two more championships. I’ll admit it’s a bit far fetched but not entirely out of the realm…

That aside, this is a tough bracket. Let’s go get ‘em heels and make it to the S16.

Seems like every time we are a 4 or 5 seed we draw the #1 overall seed

Exactly. Typically not the case but I think I probably would have preferred the Gamecocks this go around. But I’m telling myself we might be able to match up with the Huskies. Need to see play the defense of our lives.

Let’s take care of business in the first weekend.

Duke's bracket is the hardest one IMO. To be honest, it does not matter what the seeded is now. If you lose you are done, season is over whether you are a 3 seed or 2 seed. They need to be thankful that they are hosting. As the late Jimmy V said, we have to survive and advance one game at a time. Go Heels! I am just glad that we are hosting. If we should win and Maryland should win. That game is going to be like old times. It is going to be a tough one for you. Brenda is very familiar playing in our gym. They use to be in the ACC. They have beaten us in our gym a few times. You can hate her but one thing I can say, the women knows how to coach, she can make end game adjustments, and her teams will always bring effort and play hard and physical. If you have forgotten, Jeff W. used to be on her staff when they were in the ACC. Does anybody know CB's track record against Louisville and Jeff W. I think he has more wins against CB and UNC than she does against him and Louisville. Jeff is a disciple of Brenda. On a side note, our men's team is in the hardest bracket as well. They are in the same boat as Duke's women by being in the hardest bracket. The only difference is we won't have Caleb Wilson (our best player and freshman phenom) playing which is going to make it much harder for them in that bracket to win. Go Heels!

This women's Final 4 is the worst basketball I have ever watched on TV. Jesus 38-28 in the 4th quarter. Game 1 was just as bad. Not a good look for women's hoops. Do yourself a favor and play well.

HighPointHeel24, you must understand that these coaches are trying to win. They are going to play the style of game that is going to give them a chance to win. Just think if you were coaching and your are playing a team that is more athletic and more talented than your team. Are you going to run with them, play to their strengths, and get blown out, or are you going to slow the game down and give your team a better chance to win? The UCLA coach clearly stated that they knew Texas was going to play a physical, slow it down, dog fight game against them. because that was what they did to beat them the first time. She said that they were ready for that type of game this time. She also stated that she know that this was not the type of game that fans wanted to see but this is how Texas wanted to play them. So, her team had to adjust to that style in order to win. As fans, we must realize that coaches are there to win no matter what and that their jobs are on the line; therefore, she have to do what ever it took for her team to win the ball game last night.
