Like I said in a thread last week, weird stuff happens down in Bourbannais. Congrats the Boliermakers. They'll be a player in 7a for sure. And they've all but secured a top seed and home field advantage, where more weird stuff will likely happen.

And for the LWE, maybe they're not all that we thought they were. If they don't recover from this right away they might get bounced early. Losing close at home to HF is one thing, but absolutely getting your butt kicked 28-0 at half to a good team but likely not the caliber of HF is unacceptable. Winning state with all the North kids was the expectation, don't want to hear excuses.

How does Bradley handle the regular season success in the postseason? Will LWE be able to rebound in time before another good team punches them in the mouth in the playoffs? Can't wait to find out the answers

BB has real HF talent on offense. Bradley is always a tough place to play and with the talent this year they are for real. LWE gift wrapped this one in the first quarter. I am holding with my prior comments regarding a 6A team growing to play in 8A. I know there were at least 4 picks to well covered receivers with only one being a great play by the DB ...I could have made the other 3. The grumblings in the stands clearly indicate this "merger" from a parental standpoint is not complete and is still becomes a North / East question when kids make plays. I hope the boys have become one unit, but adults usually carry this talk home with them. There is time to correct the on field play before another real team arrives- Lockport. The Griffins did not quit in the second half. Anyone know why the LWE interception was called back? Evidently Z was upset.

Exactly. I'm not entirely sure that they're actually good. Talent is certainly not the issue but there's just something that just seems off. It would have done them a lot better had this butt kicking happened in week 5 or something. I don't know if they can get it together by playoffs

I was thinking the same thing. 5A LWW beat BB last year, too. And Bradley was a 7A State Semifinal Team last year. In the semifinals they lost to a really good Libertyville team with All World Riley Lees on a last second play.

I have not had an on field interest in many years with LWE but do know the merging of North and East has you butt hurt. Seeing your beloved baseball connections and Ann adoration has you unable to see past the WIU log on...but it is time to realize for the kids sake that we as adults need to set a positive tone. The crap talk in the stands also took place at North...i.e. WWS fiasco. Look, it is tough and mistakes happen and you learn. Guys, youre letting Bradley tear us all apart. I hope it isnt lost on you that for the 1st time EVER a team in a conference with LWE and The Brook will be the conference champ. And as a matter of fact LWE & The Brook won't even finish 2nd. Now we have to let H-F and Bradley people into the secret clubhouse.

Gah I've been trying my damndest to forget about that WWS game. Big black eye on Czart and the program but I'd say they made up for it the next season

Do we need to wait until the playoffs to see if the original LWE kids are up to the standards of 8A football, since LWE was a 7A team prior to the closure of LWN? It's a ridiculous question, just as your suggestion that a LWN kid was struggling, because it's a higher class of football. I have no dog in this fight, but it seems you (WIU) brought this classification argument to Edgyland.

pjjp - I can see after re-reading my post that you may interpret calling out players which was NOT my intention. My statement was weeks ago when the inquiry was made as to how many starters were from the olde North program. There was another statement that the QB starter was from LWN... Which has not been the case all year as time has been split between 2 players. Sorry to indicate otherwise in this thread. No one player can be blamed for not coming to play and last night was a team effort. Comparing results from last season or seasons, is living in the past. The district finances should not come into play discussing who is or is not on the field and parents are doing that at games currently. ALL of LWN is now at LWE...move on folks...at least on the playing fields.

Lockport may not be the test for LWE we once thought. I heard QB/kicking specialist Ben Davis was not in attendance at last night's game with an onset health issue likely to have ended his season.
