Like these quotes:

The Mountaineers really don’t have many positions that stand out as glaring weaknesses with receiver joining offensive line as one of the main concerns heading into the summer due to inexperienced candidates at various positions.

The best news for Dana Holgorsen’s squad is the overall depth of the offensive line, with 15 offensive linemen participating in spring drills, meaning WVU could be two-deep along the offensive line and allow the competition to push the overall production of the group to a higher level.

Let's this means good things for this year.

I want to see an effective run game with my own eyes. If West Virginia can pound the ball, then this could be a fun season.

If the Mountaineers cannot make the hard yard, then I fear we'll get to the eighth game of the season lucky to be 4-4.

You will see the hard yard, primarily because the defenses have to account for the legs of Howard and Crest. Going to make the offensive line look a lot better. On plays between the 20's, safeties and corners will have to take peek. That one tick delay changes your 40 time from 4.6 to 4.2 and you look like Steve against Georgia.

Agreed. I'd love to see a return to a run first offense - it won a ton of games including the Sugar/Gator/Fiesta. Was one of the most exciting times for the program. Defenses knew it was coming & the vast majority of the time, offered nothing to stop it. That's beating your opponent in more ways than one. Winning that way didn't require having an 85-deep roster either.

That said, I have no expectations this will happen under Holgorsen.

You'd think being the odd match-up would be most ideal; i.e. Rod's zone-read no huddle option offense, the 3-3-5 stack defense, Beilein's 3-point, Princeton-like offense, Press Virginia, etc.

Basically the entire Big XII runs the pass first spread, the Air Raid or whatever term.
