Ironically I thought Garrison was playing fairly well offensively last night.

I went back and watched the lead up to the benching and the defensive possession right before he got yanked, his man got inside position on him, nice entry pass and an easy bucket. Pope immediately turned around and sent Moreno to sub in. BG followed that up with the turnover and not getting back and that was that… He spent the rest of the game sitting between coaches (Fox and McLean it looked like) and had his warmup on in the 2nd half, so I think he knew he wasn’t going back in.

It was good to see Pope finally take a stand. Imo it was important for fans to see that public display of punishment, which was well deserved.

Imo it also shows the lack of respect some of these guys have for Pope. Pope was literally bending over backwards to find a way to get him pt and THIS is how he thanked him.

Just cut him. Jelly is way better in every way. Jq is coming back. It will also make more room for kam.

He's averaged 12 minutes over the past 4 games. We'll soon have Quaintance back and he should be able to replace those minutes right away. I'm half hoping Garrison transfers mid season. We're better off without him being a toxic element.
Yeah we looked great vs gonzaga, thank god we're cutting his minutes,

He plays like a damn baby
He's super immature on the court. All you have to do is go back to the game at OU last season. Crap like that is just immaturity. Pope's persistence with him was one of the first clues I had that Pope might not be all that good at this coaching thing.

We'll be waaay better next year.

Get a stud wing and a PG... that'll be a really solid team.

With transfer-at-will and how bad this team was functioning to start the season.. there is not one single player I would pencil in for this team next year. You're looney if you think there won't be guys bolting, unless this really gets turned around. Which maybe it can, I'm hopeful.

But if we miss the tournament, or lose in the first round as a 9-seed? You're going to see a lot of guys bolt. You can book it.

I have zero inside information on JQ, but I think we could see him in the Bellarmine game. Our first conference game is Alabama. If Im the player coming back from an ACL injury I think Id like to test my knee out against a lesser team first before going in to the lion's den. Ive always thought January though.

To be fair here, while Garrison needs to sit IMO, he never has and never will be a shot blocker. Its just not in his skill set, he is a big, but he isn't super athletic and he doesn't have great leaping ability, so I didn't expect him to develop that in the off season

if things don't turn around.......WHO would deserve to return, especially at the alleged over paid amounts they make

Just curious, Is Braydon Hawthorne redshirting this year? Otherwise, why not throw him out there, I feel like he would play with some heart, see what the kid has.

Popes a good coach. Maybe too passive but the man can coach or last year would have been a brutal dumpster fire.

Bottom line is kid needs to get his head out of his ***. Hopefully getting called out publicly has a positive effect. Honestly if it doesn’t I say kick him off the team. But I hope it gets him on track.

If BG was going to come around it would have happened by now. Kentucky is not getting the results of a McDonald’s all American in high school, far from it. I think he was Popes insurance that he had a playable back up for Williams. He’s looking at minimal playing time from here on out unless something drastic happens.

I disagree. Last year he had a super experienced team. Those guys knew how to play. Granted, he managed the roster through a ton of injuries, but that stuff happens. I think last year's team gets overlooked because they didn't have a "dude", but what they did have was a wealth of guys with a ton of experience that understood how to play the game.

I doubt BG is forward thinking enough to pull his head out of his ***, honestly. He seems like a nice enough dude and I'm glad he loves his kid, but he doesn't have much going on up there.

I don’t believe Pope dropped an F bomb. I do expect Garrison to be off the team by conference play. It’s a shame because BG has size and natural ability to have a nice career playing basketball. He’s too immature to make himself a great player.

They also were the definition of unselfish. That was a good group of guys .

I think Garrison has gotten stiffer with age. Imagine growing like that. For some people it's going to take a toll. Garrison, however, hasn't worked on improving his actual basketball skill to compensate. On top of that, I think he feels entitled, like because he was already here, he has more sway.
