Why haven't there been any commercials breaks during the telecasts the last 2 nights? I watched the whole game last night on the Peachtree Network with no commercials and through the first 2 innings tonight no commercials. Not complaining, just weird. It's kind of like watching on M2M without the behind the scene conversation between Jim Ellis and the production crew.

What peachtree does is they receive the program feed from Turner Field and is routed to the network in downtown Atlanta. They in-turn send out a second(network) feed, commercials included. DirecTV simply gets the program feed and sends it straight out. Because peachtree is considered a local station, you wont get a network feed nationally.

Peachtree is technically a local broadcast in the Atlanta area. Since that's the case, I assume the vast majority of the commercials are all local commercials. Because of that, they probably just stay at the park for the non-ATL feeds. At least, that's my theory. I could be completely wrong. Regardless, I love not having commercials. It's about as close to being there as possible without actually being there. Especially now that Smoltz is in the booth. He's awesome on color. I miss Boog, but Ernie is about a million times better than Chip Caray. SS & FSN games are going to be painful this season thanks to that guy. I may be using my mute button frequently.

...owns the Braves and a large chunk of DirecTV. all you need to know.

it'll be interesting to see if the current arrangement stays after they sell the team in a year or two.

today, during the first commercial break prior to first pitch, you could hear the park announcer doing the starting lineup. bigger cheers for McCann than Chipper, and even bigger for Heyward. Cool stuff.

No boos for Troy "Rally Killer" Glaus, though.
