If you have not yet watched Jason Heyward play, prepare to be amazed. I got the chance to watch both of the Braves first two ST games, and the kid is a freak. He is huge, and still probably the fastest player on the team (at 6'4" 240). I know it is only spring training, but he is as disciplined at the plate as Chipper Jones, a very welcome change from seeing Jeff Franoeur and Yunel Escobar hack away at every pitch the last few years.

I will be very surprised if he is not the opening day starter in RF.

Hopefully he'll win the job outright and start the year in ATL. That would let Melky platoon in left with Diaz and spell McLouth in center.

Seems like the whole season, though, depends on Troy Glaus coming back healthy.

P.S. Escobar and Francoeur in the same sentence with regard to plate discipline? Shirley you jest!

I saw him play at Trustmark last year and it is unreal how good he is. I think that he had just turned 20 then. He is big, fast, quick-handed, and has a great swing. I'm excited about him. </p>

so hard that I thought it was going to go through the wall in RF. I remember when Francouer was in Pearl, and I would say that Heyward was more impressive to me. Of course, Francouer struggled for a while with the M-Braves.

Also, Freddie Freeman looked like a pretty good player, but he will be in AAA next year I'm sure. He will be the Braves first baseman before long.

The scout they had on the radio said that he, without a doubt would be the future of the Braves organization. Take that for what it's worth.
