Anyone think the Braves will make a move for another OF that can actually hit. How about Chooo from Clev., or Carlos lee from Houston. Any ideas?

they're giving McClouth every opportunity to get it done. Schafer, Clevlen and Diaz could all be trade fodder. I think Clevlen stays.

none of the guys that they have now, with the possible exception of Hanson, relies on a curve ball for outs. Lowe and Hudson are both sinker ballers that are just as likely to get anyone out and Medlen is a changeup guy. Plus, there's JJ coming off an injury to push Kawakami some in the rotation and Venters and Minor that both project as starters some time in the next couple of years (both LH).

or Mark Kotsay?

Maybe, but if I was the Braves, I'd kind of hate to give up a prospect for him.

If I were the Braves, I would go after David DeJesus of the Kansas City Royals. They are already talking about dumping him, and he's not a bad player at all. I think he would fit into the Braves lineup pretty well, and he's a guy that the Braves might be able to lock up if he does well. He can do a lot of different things in different spots in the order and play anywhere in the outfield. Thing is, the Royals actually have some pretty good pitching prospects and have a young staff in general with a great young closer, so they probably won't ask for someone like Minor. What they need is offense more than anything, and if the Braves have some even decent guys that they could use as trade bait, the Royals would probably take it. And I'm not sure that they would want Freddie Freeman because that would involve moving Billy Butler.

I'm not sold on that idea, but I did find it interesting. He hit his 10th HR last night, but is only hitting .227.<div>
</div><div>I like the idea of a guy like DeJesus, but I'm not really sure the Braves have the prospects to land anyone that decent. There isn't that player that's chomping at the bit to get to the majors really. Plus, there are some longer term needs that the Braves have to be worried about like Chipper's replacement and maybe even (*gasp*) a closer. If they wanted to make a push this year, I'd hope that it would be done without selling the little bit of talent that's anywhere close to contributing (Freeman, Minor, Diory Hernandez), but who knows.</div><div>
</div><div>Another option may be trying to move Lowe or Kawakami if Jurjjens comes back healthy, but if there's a playoff push involved and Lowe is pitching decently, I'm sure they'd want him on the staff coming down the stretch. Kawakami's value is in the crapper right now and he's owed over $7M next year, so he's probably not that attractive.</div>

What about Fukodome? Do the Cubs suck again this year? I don't keep up with them.

Blanco got promoted, and once Schafer is 100%, you have to think he will be promoted. I think Schafer is the long-term plan, so I would expect McLouth to be the one that the Braves will be fielding offers for. Depending on how Jurrjens recovers, I think we could see either Venters being promoted to the 5th spot in the rotation, or the Braves finding a lefty in the trade market that can fill the 5th spot. I don't think Kawakami is going to finish the season in the rotation. Other than that, I don't see a lot of moves being made. The infield and bench are solid, the bullpen for the most part has been effective, and starting pitching has been phenomenal outside of Kawakami. Young guys like Gregor and Schafer will hopefully help out in the outfield.
