Just curious to know if UK is recruiting Braxton Keathley. He was the states leading scorer last season and has just transferred from Prestonsburg to Martin County (2027)

I think the 6’4” guard is definitely one to watch . Has offers from smaller schools like EKU, but has been getting interest from South Carolina, LSU, Florida State and Louisville.

My concern would be his efficiency. His 34 points per game are impressive, but he did take 42% of his team’s field goal attempts last year and only shot 31% from three. That might have been the product of him being the best player on a team that went 13-15, so he probably was asked to do a lot. He still has two years of high school ball left too.

If he is as good as Travis Perry in high school

If not, he is not good enough to be offered as high school prospect

Uhh… so? Since when do we take our cues from little brother?

I smell a troll.
If you took ten seconds to look at my profile you would realize calling me a troll is ridiculous.

Historically we have always been involved with the states leading scorer. I was merely pointing out that if UofL is recruiting him then he is a legit prospect.

UofL hasn't offered him a scholarship yet from anything reported. He's an 82.67 rated 3 star currently on On3 and not rated at all by 247 which is currently good enough for 206 in this class and 50th ranked shooting guard. Currently holds 7 offers (EKU, Ohio, Bowling Green, UT Martin, Southeast Missouri State, Texas A & M Corpus Christi, and Pacific). Nothing against the kid at all. Just screams Travis Perry 2 Electric Boogaloo to me.

At this point, I want Pope to get a project PG like this kid. Someone who'll stick around and can play when absolutely necessary. We need to have some sort of safety valve with experience at the 1 for when we have seasons like this one and last.

If Noah took as many shots as this kid did in hs, he would have avg 50 a game and that’s with Noah having a few 60 point games and being a very efficient shooter. From what I’ve seen on him play, not a uk type player but I’m a nobody.

Just be real shrewd about what you mean by good in high school. By most metrics Chris Lofton wasn’t nearly as good as Travis Perry in high school.

Similar to Noah and would have a similar impact. Take him if he realizes he’s an end of the bench piece🤷‍♂️

A very impressive high school player.
But if we are talking UK and the SEC, I think he needs to add some muscle and some quickness.
He won't be able to do most of that stuff in that video against SEC defenders.

I'm all for taking the best player in KY... EVERY SINGLE YEAR.

Some will be busts, some will be minor contributors, but eventually you'll get the kid that will never be forgotten.

I'll let Ravi Moss, Cameron Mills, Scott Padgett, Reed Shep, et al, wear the uni anytime they want.

I’d take Jake Feldhaus over this kid if we’re needing a Kentucky kid. 6’8” and plays hard. Plus the legacy tie would be nice.

Jake plays at Madison Central. Much better competition. He’s verbally committed to Belmont but I wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t de-commit and chooses a bigger D1 school.

Scored 29 vs Great Crossing and Mareno last year.

I'd rather UK spend money on players that can play as opposed to sentimental purposes.

This kid can’t help we’re he’s from so these fake fans will badmouth him . But he’s a gym rat and has a quick high release jump shot. Ends every practice shooting 3s , made 113 out of 115. Was told by D1 coach he’s the best player from the mountains since John Pelphrey. Don’t forget, this kid is a legit site and not some tall thin as a rail player The coach told me he might grow 3-4 inches. Anyway talk is cheap but he plays 3 minutes from my house nest month so I want to see if he’s as good as John who Is a friend of mine.

How are they "fake fans"? Maybe those fans just prefer to win. Is that not a true fan to you?

Yall love pope. This is the kids we’ll be getting now. Like he woulda been a bench rider for cal. The 13th man or something like Hood. Hart etc. I’m mad. I just want pope and Mitch gone.

I'm all for KY guys that want to wear the jersey and stay 4 years. I don't know this kid and I can't say how he would act or what his expectations would be if he did come to UK, but if it's anything more than Cigar minutes as a Freshman don't waste a roster spot. We already have that roll filled, and presumably will again next year if Potter stays. And is he going to transfer out because of lack of playing time or UK recruiting over him? Or is he going to stay and work to become a contributor? I don't know. He would probably be better served to go somewhere mid major esq, dominate year 1 and transfer up (probably with a better pay day).

If the kid is similar to pelphrey or feldhaus, sign him up. Those guys were just good basketball players. Not all-Americans, but they helped the team.

Sounds like he’s a good player now, with a really chance to grow into a great player.

We struggle with recruiting true freshmen studs. We need to pursue this kid, this is the tier of player we are capable of swaying away from teams like WKU, Eastern Michigan, etc.

Remember Deron and John we're not superstars when they got to UK but worked their butts off to get there. You can add Richie to that group the coach was almost forced to take the states leading scorer.
