Buddy you should have asked our AD about a potential coach. July is right around the corner.

I did sway. My understanding is DT hasn't officially resigned but I think plans to. Also if we get a new principal they would have to be in place for the hiring. I specifically called him to put Russell Stone's name in front of him. I think time is of the essence but things can only move so fast. Just one more obstacle in front of us. What a year!!!!!

The endowment game can be any non conference game, it does not have to be the first game of the season. I would think most schools would try to work it out as a small gate game if possible rather than give up 25% of the gross gate receipts.

Not saying we will be getting a new peincipal nipit. Just a possibility as the county is bad to move them around from school to school.

I think you are correct, sway.
IDK. If they change this late, the new man/woman might want a new direction and pursue a coach like coach Stone...or he could be a yes man and just do whatever the uppers suggest. I will be surprised that they change admins. this late. The real question is will they hire a one year fix knowing plan A or B is still possible.

Nipit I personally think that if the school board tried to implement plan A or B they would be run out of town on a rail. I believe they are holding them over the commissioners heads to try and get what they want. More Money. If they shelve them then they have nothing to bargain with the commissioners with. Just my thoughts.

The question that should be asked is if the school board wanted to implement Plan A or Plan B, why hasn't either plan been implemented yet?

I really question whether Plan A or Plan B was ever in the cards to begin with. Compared to these plans redistricting seems much more tamer than either one of these plans. When the Board drops these plans and focus on redistricting many people will jump on board. Before these plans were proposed some of the powers in Stanly wouldn't have supported redistricting. With public outcry against these plans there could be a united effort to do some serious redistricting.

I always thought that the Board's plans were a smokescreen. Ask for the impossible, then settle for what needs to be done, and what needs to be done is some redistricting.

I think the public will understand better why redistricting is so needed. Even the tuna can master named Poole knows he's been boxed into a corner.

I think you are correct, sway.

I heard she thought athletes should strive to be academically successful and for the ones that had offers to colleges they should be able to qualify to the school of their choice.

It's about Bob Dylan...or maybe Tom Petty. It's about one more dance with Mary Jane...or AHS...or something...Mr. Swett. Pay attention. (I bet your teachers never had to tell you twice did they?) :)

Mr. Slee sir if I may interrupt. I would rather it be 3 Doors Down where Boy George is awaiting to see the Slipknot on your football cleets. The best one though is The S2V Show.

After reading about the joint meeting of the BOE and the BOCC at their recent meeting I am despondent. What was accomplished? ZERO. They can't seem to come to an agreement on anything. I believe Dr. Griffin asking for 2.2 million dollars more than this year is as one CC said her wish list. These people need to get real. A tax if passed would only raise half that amount. They remind me of the goings on in our nation'a capital. Nobody want's to give a little. Compromise has to happen if anything is to ever get accomplished. Come on people get your blinders off!!!!

I think they are also including in the $2.2 million the amount they expect to see in decrease from the state. Either way it is a lot of money.

The college system is getting it also. There was a time when NC was considered to have one of the best public college systems in the states and the one of the couple most affordable but that is no longer what people think.

Without telling all I know I think I can safely say that the search for a new HC at Albemarle is in the works and moving forward. That's about all I can say at the moment but I do expect an announcement to be forth coming sooner rather than later. Go Dogs.

I doubt it sway. The AD told me he would let me know the minute he heard something. I have heard nothing.

Thanks Buddy. I hope whoever comes in; they will bring in some assistants. I spoke with one assistant Saturday and he said that he doubted that he'd be coming back this year.

I know sway. Last year all the assistants were volunteers. This could be a problem as if we need more problems.

I believe that we will be fine this year. I would think that the next coach; once announced, will bring in or "Recruit" some coaches. Like I said, it will take 2 years to rebuild what we have 5-6 years ago and we are on year "1". Keep me updated.

OK at the BOCC meeting last night they agreed to give a one time payment of $330,000.00 to put STEM courses in SCS. They also gave 80,000.00 for teachers supplements. They also voted 6-1 to put a .25% sales tax increase on the ballot allotted just for education. Gene was the lone discenting vote. Figures. Burr must have told him to vote against it. lol
Now what does the BOE do in light of this. Dr Griffin has to know her request for 2.2 million more than last year was totally unrealistic. It seems to me the commissioners have responed in a positive way to some of what the school board wants. Now its up to them to give a little. Give and take. That's what it's all about. We shall see.

Yeah its over for the West.

Funny thing is, I was driving the back road going to Norwood and I saw a sign saying "Save Our Schools". If people truly want to save the schools, then redistricting is a must along with funding.

I am quite excited about the funding for STEM classes. This will save me tons of money, as I was looking for better educational challenges for my children. Buddy, will this be implemented at the high school level or across all levels?
