That's it, Aggies are screwed, they should still jump as Tu gets a network, etc.

Without numbers in the title.

Us po' academically challenged southern schools managed to get that right at least.

but we actually screwed it up. Shouldn't we just be the SC? Isn't Southeastern one word?

Big12 should rename back to the Southwest Conference. Pac10 should rename to the Pacific Conference. The Big 10 will remain the Big 10 because they are douchebags.

The Big 12 is a mess and they should separate themselves from it. It's just a collection of teams that want out and teams that are scared of getting left behind.

Almost pulled a coup d'etat that would have seriously made a run for the title of best athletic conference.

Texas has been trying to convince their subjects that the Pac 10 could offer so much more money.. but now they're saying they're committed to a 10 member Big 12.

Ten members = no championship game
No championship game = less revenue

So Texas is about to create its own network and make more money but everybody else will make less from a 10-member Big 12?

Beevo must be one hell of a salesman.

Texas is like Notre Dame with the benefit of a conference.

Texas is pulling all the strings. I hope to hell that A&M calls their bluff and joins the SEC anyway.

is convincing schools they will make $10 mill more per school from a new tv deal and be able to do their own network.

I don't have any idea how they plan on getting this new tv deal.

and I think they have redefined reactionary by waiting until they were on the brink of extinction to offer this up.

and it is an 18 year deal. They might make $17 million per school, but by 2025 that will seem like a pittance.

They would be the final blow to kill the Big 12 and I doubt the politicians in Texas would allow that to happen. However, even if the Big 12 does survive, it's not likely to for long. I think they're just postponing the inevitible even if they can make this work.

to show games not shown by the conference deal.

Like Tigervision. That's been my understanding, but my understanding hasn't always been the best on this.

It may not be a perfect geographical fit, but it fits muchbetter than calling your league the Pacfic-10/11/12 when one of your members is in eastern Texas.

GPC was also suggested when the Big-12 originally formed. To this day, I don't understand why the schools settled on the drab/blah/unoriginal "Big 12". Of course, I fully expect to remain the "Big Ten" no matter how many teams make up the conference.

$17,000,000 is a pittance it will be due to such rampant inflation having taken place, the US $ has no value.
