I really mean that too. I don't think there's ever been a QB as accurate as Brees and he still has A LOT of years left.

"Brees don't care."

WRs didn't have to worry about a Ronnie Lott or Steve Atwater taking their head off, Brees wouldn't even be in the same discussion as them at this point. I like him, but there is no comparison to playing qb then and now.

350lb lineman running 4.6 40's like there is in today's game players are Faster, Bigger and Stronger and there are a hell of a lot more of them. Bree's is also a lot smaller than Marino. And Brees is a much better athlete. I'll take Bree's over Dan any day. Laces Outta here.

Now more than ever. Jim Caldwell is a fraud, and Manning has done everything himself for that team. He puts on an absolute clinic on offense, and it actually makes me wonder if the Tony Dungy era was just smoke and mirrors

Montana is the best QB ever to play. Brees is not even the best QB in the NFL right now- that guy wears Green and Gold

That's pretty BOLD. Yes, I think he's in the discussion, but Brees has stats and a damn near perfect Super Bowl performance in his corner. All said, when you think about all the current QBs playing with Brees, Rodgers, Brady, and P Manning, the talent is crazy.Brees just sticks out to me.

Brees had thrown 100 more passes coming into today- but was only 400 yards ahead....Rodgers gets more bang for his buck, and throws less picks...and Rodgers has a SB himself, not to mention very likely to win another <div>

that there can never be a QB greater than those two because of the QB protection rules? I am not saying Brees is as good as those two, but he is at least in the discussion.

No one has ever been as accurate (completion percentage) or thrown for as many yards in a season as Brees.

I'm saying that the protection rules like the Brady rule, as well as the "defenseless player" rule and helmet to helmet rule, have fostered an environment where the path to leading such stats, such as completion percentageand breaking records set by those qbs that didn't have those rules to play under, is much easier. I said I like the guy and he is a great qb, but he is playing under conditions that are more qb friendly.

It is hard to argue between the two. Rodgers may end up being the best QB to play the game if he keeps his current pace.

Due Brees' size he gets passes deflected and picked. Plus they throw more than any other team (over a 100 more attempts then Rodgers as you pointed out) so it makes sense that he would have more picks, but it still amazing that Rodgers has 45 TDs and thrown only 6 INTs.

Still Brees leads the #1 total offense as far as yardage goes in the history of the NFL (surpassing the 2000 Rams). Also, the Saints are the best 3rd down conversion team in the league. Arguments can go either way, but to me this season they are 1 and 1a.

While I disagree and think that is taking a simplified look and discounting some pretty amazing stats, those are not unreasonable points.

Please note that I'm not saying he isn't a great qb, he most certainly is. My argument is that these issues should be considered prior to labeling him as the "best ever".

At the moment, that has to go to Montana. I just "predict" Brees to keep going and going and going.

If he has at least decent protection up front, he's almost unstoppable. If he has good protection, he's definitely unstoppable.

point is that their backup came in and had their best performance of the year, against a tough D playing for something.

this ridiculous illegal contact ******** they call makes it such that if you have a good QB, decent OL and 3-4 decent WRs, it's like a skeleton drill out there. I don't see how any sane person can deny that the NFL has done everything possible to ensure that offenses (particularly the passing games) succeed.

he could start for half of the NFL- Denver would be a good place for him since he is also somewhat mobile
