So Pritchett, Evans, Black and maybe Knaak on the starters' line, although I assume they will try for another OT.
It would be nice if that freshman or sophmore OL from Tennessee was in the portal. Sanders I think his name was. He visited a year or 2 ago and we tried pretty hard wooing him.

Not sure if he'd still be interested in us or not, but we can't get a chance if he doesn't enter the portal.

I will be interested to see what Geep brings to the table. I can never remember what Geep's last name is.

Mostly interested to see if he and Tinsley can get develop Sledge, Brix, Peters, Pyle, Taumua, Hammerbeck and Marks. Different technique than Raiola taught. Raiola's hand technique appeared to be more technical and precise as opposed to what other coaches teach.

This is funny. I was thinking the same thing yesterday. I don’t even know Geep’s last name. But I don’t care what his name is if he can improve those guys you listed. There is potential there.

Those young guys on the roster are one of the reasons I defended Donnie’s recruiting. That said, it concerns me that we didn’t see any of them playing much in the bowl game. We obviously felt the need to hit the portal for at least one guard and I’m sure we’re still after an OT.

Hopefully somebody can beat out Knaack. IF we can land a tackle I can see Gottula playing guard.

The kids recruited out of HS were well regarded and I would think by now there would be kids ready to play. Gottula held up at LT as a RS freshman and then seemingly regressed. He ended the season injured, so I don't know how much that may have affected his play. But that kid has played parts of two seasons and should be ready to take another step. And then there are all of those other kids. Brix was considered a get and he is coming into his third year.

Sometimes the change of narrative on the forum is fun. It wasn't 2 or 3 years ago that the when the topic of offensive line came up, it was you can't expect these young guys to compete against Big Ten defenses. Now it is like if you are not starting on the OLine by your 2nd year it is a failure and you need to be processed.

Donnie did OK with Evans and our guards but was not good at all developing our tackles. I'm hoping our new OL coaches can get our young linemen playing up to the potential we've all heard about. Our offensive tackles have really held back our offense and these young players are in desperate need of quality coaching.

Let me know when Nebraska lands the #1 player at each position. It is our birthright as a Nebraska fan.
Come on. Just because a lot of us are unhappy with the situation doesn’t mean we can’t be happy with a solid pick up. Many of us aren’t spiteful.

It’s not unreasonable to be disappointed right now with a coach who has produced 1 good season in 9 years.

I’m happy with the 2 pick-ups. Very very happy. This is the kind of kid Rhule needed to land. I think Minchey is a great land too. We don’t need an expensive 1 and done QB. We aren’t competing for a title next year. We need someone who can battle TJ and create depth and will be here for a bit. Not one that’s going to come in and demand a start. Competition is good. Depth is needed.

let’s keep it rolling. 2 for 2 I say

All these people do is bitching about the fans because they think they are defending the coaching staff and administration. Just people who whine incessantly because others aren't fanboying in the proper way like they are.

Unlike some positions OL is one i'd rather the guy be an A+ developer and a C- recruiter than the other way around. And I'm not even sure Donnie is a C-. That being said maybe our new OL coach can be like Bo Pelini was to BC's recruits and get the development out of them.

Absolutely, coaching is extremely underrated.

Ah yes, it has nothing to do with defending anyone or anything, It is just the realism that Nebraska football isn't what you and others think it is on a national scale. This is who Nebraska is right now. This is about the level of coach Nebraska can get and these are about the level of football transfer they will attract in the portal.

Actually writing on a message board that you could run an athletic department in your sleep because you may have, (or may not have), negotiated a military contract once is hysterical.
