Why does a head coach need to wear those big *** headphones getting off the bus?

Is he trying to maintain his street cred with recruits? Listening to last minute game plans he recorded while in the shower? Trying to block out the cheering fans?

I don't get it.

Also a chubby dude at my gym wears a big, goofy looking pair of red Beats while he works out. All I can think every time he's there:
