Coach Coleman did a great job. He was able to hit Brevard at a good run of athletes. And he did an outstanding job with them. Will be interesting to see who takes over and how they fair with what appears to be quiet a good bit of talent graduating

Coach Coleman announced his resignation as was somewhat expected that he’d be back in Georgia sooner rather than later.

Great HC opportunity now available!
I did not expect that. Best of luck to him and Brevard finding a replacement.

Hard to pass up that Georgia coaching money! Where did he land down there?

This is probably one of the best jobs not just in the mountains but state wide in terms of pay and facilities. They do lose a good bit of talent off of this years team it would appear, however, they should get a very strong candidate pool to choose from. Ironically, if indeed Coach Coleman is going back to Ga. the last 2 HC Brevard has hired came from and then went back to Georgia.

Both of the above coaches went(are going)back to Georgia for reasons that are bigger than just football. Pritchett truly returned home to his alma mater so that always has a draw for many men. Coleman has made most of his adult life in Georgia but WNC is home but this move back also has future (good) implications for his family and I’ll leave it at that. Coleman always had plans to go back sooner or later, not that those couldn’t have changed at some point.

They return Thompson-Wynn at Wr who is really really good. And not much else. According to MaxPreps non of their leaders in passing, rushing, and tackling return.

Brevard will have one of the fastest QB’s in WNC in Aguypon. If Tristan returns, Brevard will still be fine. Brayden Crain is a TE/DE that has been offered by ECU already. I would expect a lot more offers coming into his junior season.

What are the options. I mentioned him leaving before and everyone said he wouldn’t go anywhere in the mountains.
I am just an old fart not enjoying watching all this movement of HS players amongst schools.
I have no idea who you are even discussing, if he is a generational talent or just local talent. But you do mention something that caught my attentio, “ he wouldn’t go anywhere in the mountains “. Now just using this young man, what do parents do, just uproot families to move their players to other schools? Do They not have jobs? Do kids not care about the high schools? I graduated in the 70’s and still love my high school. I attend as many events as I can. And not just sporting events.

Sorry. Off my rant.

Its in the mountains, so that would kind of go against what was mentioned here, but Christ School has been known to be able to gain a few really good players from teams in the mountains over the years.

From personal experience and others i know...sometimes parents will sacrifice to put their kids in a better situation that they think will help them. I still support and help my high school but when my kid was coming up a few years ago, they did not have the coaching to make my kid better from the middle school to high school. So I made a choice after going and watching practices (awful practices) that my kid wouldn't even attend their assigned middle school. By the time high school came around, we had gotten a 2nd place in SC in order to attend the school of our choice. Yes, it was some long commute days for work for me but would do it all over again. The schools we were looking for had to have higher curriculum and school support with sports with great coaches. We the chose the high school(sports charter) because it was a mainly dual education program and almost every student was taking college classes and my kid got to play for a D1 hall of fame coach. I know some people think you should be loyal but loyal doesn't always mean its what is best for your kid.

Ex...if my kid metrics is for a high level wide receiver and thats their goal, I would not keep my kid at a school that would pass maybe 5 or 10 times a game or didnt have a qb that couldn't pass the ball over 30 yards. That loyalty doesn't help the kid. Just my opinion.

If I had to choose between Brevard and TCR right now I’d at least stay and see who the new HC is gonna be and what his plans were. It’s not like TCR has been a better program than Brevard recently.

No way habich leaves watauga for Brevard. He's got a good thing in watauga and probably pays better.

I don’t think he would but I’d ask. I believe his wife is from Hendersonville too, so maybe that would be a good pitch? Either way, the answer is always no if you don’t ask.

I have no clue what Habich makes at Watauga. But I also know Brevard pays pretty good by NC standards.

TC has never been a better football program than Brevard, ever! Just like TC is a baseball school, Brevard will always be a football school. Not sure what the pull to TC is but if that is where he feels like he needs to go then good luck to him.

Tristan’s Dad played at Hendersonville and he has a cousin at TC. He’s the best WR and kick/punt returner in WNC and will make any team a lot better. Maybe the best cover DB? Just not a great tackler.

It confused me a few years ago when Deshauteurs left Brevard for TCR. Is there a connection or just coincidence?

Is TCR the closest school to Brevard outside of Transylvania County?
Usually you’re not going to get many transfers in at Brevard. But you’re not going to lose too many either. Just bc Brevard is pretty isolated and not real close to anything else. Unless a family is willing to legit move. They aren’t going in or out.

No, West Henderson is the closest. TCR would be the closest school in Buncombe County to Brevard.
If West hasn’t locked up a coach yet, the Brevard opening could potentially offer up some competition for the choice of a coach. Football Fan support, money behind the program, etc I’d rather be at Brevard.
