Sallach...really hope I am wrong.

Late in the coaching carousel game to try and get another quality coach in here for spring practice so likely Sallach in the short term but I would be willing to bet we bring in another coach for next Fall if the right guy comes available.

Would not have a problem with that...and would make sense. But you don't see to many hires during that time period...

I bet Ole Miss doesn't hire a retread for W. McGriff's open position.

Thus negating your point. If we go back to Sallach then we're not even trying to be competitive in the recruiting game.

Which proves everyone's point that it's near impossible to get a quality coach at this point in the year.

Yep. Just talked to a UM buddy. He was quick to point out that OSU's pass defense has sucked while Jones was there. He's not exactly thrilled with the hire.

the ones I talk to acknowledge the stats but couldn't care less. Just think of the CROOTIN possibilities in Oklahoma/Texas/Alabama is all they are focused on.

I agree. I hope we don't just go back to Sallach permanently coaching TEs but if Mullen can't come up with the right guy that may be the short term solution since that is what Sallach has done the whole time he has been at MSU. The quicker we get a better coach and recruiter in here for that position the happier I'll be because I think Brewster WAS a good coach as well as recruiter. He seemed to do wonders with our WRs this year as opposed to where they were with Mirando.
