In response to a question about if "all recruits know Chris Kiffin is headed to Dallas"

His answer "YES!!!"

My guess would be Daniel since it would be his position coach. Brewster was also recruiting Daniel, who was rumored to be announcing today.

So Yancy is the same as a football coach? Do the Yancy threads stop since its ok for a coach to completely make **** up? Good lord you 17ers are dense

Am I correct...according to that published article Chris

Kiffin is an admitted criminal as well as possibly a drug and alcohol abuser?

That's a noted difference. The comparison to Yancy's BS would be Steve making up a rumor and putting it out there. Maurice Harris and Matt Luke aren't tweeting MSU coaching rumors. Can't say I've seen that from an on-staff coach before, but I guess it's possible.

Maybe we will start seeing coaches retweet rumors from the Rousel brothers to try to sway recruits.

Could make the twittersphere more entertaining.

Freezus and your staff does the same- "Mullen is leaving State first chance he gets"..."Mullen is a Scientologist...I fear for your soul if you go to State"....blah blah blah

No one said Kiffin is an atheist.
Who called anyone an atheist? And please link the evidence of this terrible lie... Oh you can't?. Well Mullen beats small children during the offseason but don't ask for proof, just know I'm a reliable source, just like Matt Wyatt

You're right Lee..

Don't know what I was thinking... I forgot this is the fan base that screams "dey cheat'n" while they're are the ones being investigated by the NCAA

Recruits tell coaches what others coaches say all the time...quit acting so self-righteous

That **** certainly happens. It's just foolish to play it out on twitter I think. If you do it behind closed doors, it can cast doubt and not be refuted immediately. If you do it on twitter, as a coach, you stand a chance to have it thrown back on you publicly and within the hour. Maybe that difference doesn't matter, but I think it's a noted difference.

I would prefer some plausible deniability personally. I think that's a smarter way to go. Brewster would've been better off just calling Daniel and telling him he heard Kiffin was leaving, so he should take that into consideration. That would be a smarter approach I think.

Then again, maybe this will be the future of coach mud-slinging. I just don't truly believe most coaches are going to want to play out the mud slinging in public.

ETA: I do agree with Godfrey, this is why stupid season is so fun. Coach twitter slap fights, like message board rumors, should be encouraged.

Maybe Brewster should take Freeze's approach and just argue with rival fans....

....on twitter. That usually ends well

I do agree Bruiser that twitter wasnt the way to go about it. But even your Freezus was arguing on twitter with a parody of himself- maybe this really is the future

Pfft.

Of course it was the way to go. Kiffin leaving just got more attention in the last 2 hours than it had gotten in the last 2 months.

Actually having your AD and Coaching Staff all jump in just made a mountain out of a molehill. And before their reaction hardly anyone had even mentioned Kiffin leaving for Dallas. Now it'll be in the CL, on the OOB, etc... Perfectly planted seed of doubt.

If you really think no coaches have ever told recruits that a rival coach is leaving for another job, you shouldn't voice your own opinion on the interwebs.

Surely you can produce our letter of investigation... since it's public record and all? Oh, but that's right -- we don't have one.

You need to learn the difference between examining a "potential recruiting irregularity" and an actual NCAA investigation.

Hmmm, 7 years ago...

I would say move on...we don't want to go into a background/arrest record war! Believe me, and just leave it at that!

I'm sure they have but it must be based on truth or your credibility will suck. I hope Coach Mullen explains that to Brew!
