Head coach Todd Grantham, OC Brian Johnson. It really was that easy Cohen. Don't say Johnson would have spurned us for Florida, he wouldn't have, he'd have had full control here rather than being Mullen's ***** at Florida. That's why he's leaving to take an NFL QB coaching job.

I've always wanted to see what a defensive-minded head coach could do at MSU, with defensive recruiting being our strong point. Grantham would have been a good hire at that point, he was ready for his own program. He may never get that shot again, probably burnt out being a coordinator at this point.

If it ran off the rails a few years later, OK, then go hire you another offensive guru. I just cannot get over how incredibly stupid it was to hire a system coach who couldn't use the current talent. When things are going well, you keep it going until it's not going well. At least we would have had 2018.

Not sure I'll ever forgive him for allowing the waste of that much talent. Jackie did it in 2000 too but at least he was the coach before and during it. We totally screwed ourselves with our post-Mullen hire. Man, he better be praying to whoever his woke god is that Leach works out.
