Brian Rea is the new baseball coach at Madison Central

Brian is Jeffrey's brother- I hope he brings him in as a hitting coach. Also, the new pitching coach at MC is Jerry Dupuy, who was a pitcher at MSU in the early 90's. Brian Rea played at Delta State.

So, there will be some pretty good MSU influence at MC as far as baseball is concerned.

Madison Central athletic director Bobby Hall confirmed the hiring this afternoon.

“I
interviewed a bunch of quality candidates, but at the end of the day, I
think I’ve hired the best baseball coach in Mississippi, including Mike
Bianco and John Cohen,” said Hall. “Coach Rea just has that ‘it
factor...I went bream fishing and I caught Moby Dick.”</p>

I can't imagine the move to Germantown to coach golf was voluntary.

MC just got a helluva coaching staff with Rea and Dupuy. Great teachers of the game.

He had some type of cancer last year- I want to say thyroid, but don't quote me on that. He doesn't have cancer anymore, though.

I honestly don't think him leaving for Germantown had anything to with Bobby Hall at all. He just wants to take it easy and spend more time with his family. And honestly, if Hall did mess him over, he could leave and get a great job just about anywhere he wanted and not have to fool with coaching golf.
