Not worthless little Richie in Minnesota, the big Pitino that remains the best college coach available. His buyout would be a few hundred bucks and he'd get UK back on course quick. It'd be a story for the ages... "Rick Returns to Camelot to win another title"
It would be a Seabiscuit type story, both parties need redemption.
You’ve lost your mind

We already have someone that is a butt hole to fans and replace him with someone that was a butt hole to fans?

Ricks 90's teams were so much fun... imo a ton better than Cal's tenure here. But due to Rick's hooker scandal.... nope. thats a big deal breaker even if Pitino had nothing to do with it... still happened on his watch.

although I know the OP and some here are just incredibly butt hurt many of us old enough remember and love the 90's teams and 90's rick pitino. Go watch games from that era... by far more fun .. (wall, davis, towns and sometimes fox teams were just as fun but every team from Rick in the 90's was fun to watch)
The 93 team was awesome to watch.

Probably most disappointed they didn't win the title.

Plus our players would get unlimited access to strippers, learn how to cheat the system, our fans would get chastised regularly, and every year we would hear about how we have the best xxxx player he has ever seen.

Bridge burned. The ashes mixed with acid. The residue placed in a lead box and buried under the ocean floor.

EXACTLY. He did something unthinkable. It would be like Saban deciding to coach pros for a few years and then going to Auburn. Bridge burned and no way home.

Pitino's time is over. He's pushing 70 (he'll be 69 years-old this year).

You guys are just bitter about the middle finger. If you heard someone trash you for 2 hours i guarantee you'd do worse than the finger.

As for cheating, so hire another assistant strictly just to follow him around. A Sandy Bell on steroids. Problem fixed.

Who cares how old he is, he could be 90 years old and beat 99% of the teams in America....especially when motivated.

The only way I’d take him back is if he said “Kentucky is home and I want to correct the mistakes of my past and end this where I should have never left”. “Additionally, I’ll do it for 1m a year to help with the Cal upside down buyout with incentives for E8 and beyond wit the understanding I’ll only be coach for a max 5 years and then retire.” “But I’ll be the bridge between Cal and the next successor”

It would be a story for the ages and a great way to sage his past and mend the fence

Just like most all Kentucky fans I hate losing. Especially losing badly for a terrible season. That being said I know what you’re saying but Pitino is too old. We need to hire someone little bit younger. No doubt Rick can coach that’s for sure

Too many people romanticizing and trying to relive the past. Rick is a shell of his former self, and it's 2021. The frantic full court press isn't novel anymore. There are better options out there.

He will never coach again at UK. He could have gone to UM but instead went to Louisville to stab us in the back. NEVER! NEVER!!

He’s a heck of a coach-give him the players Cal has had during his tenure here and we have a few more titles. However, his reputation is crap and I doubt he could recruit the type of players we need to be our most successful. His X’s and O’s approach is world class IMO.
He's 10 times the coach Cal is, unfortunately he's also a horrible human being.

He went to UL to stab us in the back? You cant really believe his life and job decisions are based on vengeance, and the vengeance of what? That we all became Celtic fans?

He liked the state of Kentucky, so what. What harm did he do going to UL? He never took 1 recruit we wanted. He never beat us in the tourney, so who cares. If anything, you should love the guy....he won a title for us and put our biggest rival on probation.

I dont think some of you understand that college coaches dont give a chit about if theyre going to hurt some fans feelings for taking a job.

Surprisingly Rick was cleared in court that’s why Louisville had to settle with him. I’m not sure how much they had to pay him but it was substantial I would say. I bet he regrets every day that he ever took that job.
