Fire Les and bring in Yost. The guy had one bad year, but I honestly believe its because those 17ers came in cocky (citing media days) and had little depth and talent on OL. His offense is a run first spread that can work with a running or pocket QB. Major upgrade!

Not no...but hellllll no. Mizzou fans have been trying to run him out of town for at least as long as we've been trying to get rid of Les. He is despised in Columbia. Whether it is deserved or not, I don't pretend to know. Seems he's alot like Houston Nutt in his backwards, often questionable playcalling(3rd and 6 run it up the middle, etc..).

Here's a list we should look at. 3 or 4 names on it that we could conceivably go after...

In all seriousness, if Les is "retiring", lets replace him with someone that, literally, ***** TDs. If our defense is going to suck ***, which it appears is going to be the case for the forseeable future, at least hire someone that can hang half a hundy on our Sun Belt opponents.

As a Mizzou fan, I'll back the "not no, but helllllll no"

His offense, while it can be good, is really tough to stomach sometimes. Most of his plays are extremely slow to develop and it gets tired watching that kind of offense be unsuccessful repeatedly.

I think not hanging 50 on the likes of Hardy Street High School and the bunch has a lot to do with Mullen. We could if we wanted, just seems he and Saban are alike in cooling off against inferior opponents, except Saban blanks them.

I just want an offensive coordinator who can either run the ball in the I with the quarterback under center or have Dak run the option. Malzhan can do it, and my point with Yost is that he did it. At times successfully. Les' offense is half-assed on both sides. I want an OC who's going to be on the field too yelling at the players and getting in their faces, not sitting in the press box.

Good points here.

Can we atleast offer Kingsbury double what he's making at aTm and force the Aggies to pay him more or even better steal him away from Sumlin? State can afford a cool $1million for Kingsbury.

For the umpteenth time, when you are criticizing Les do you realize this is Mullen's offense? Mullen has not and I dont think ever will give control to an OC. Anyone here who thinks we are going to bring in a young hot shot OC and give him the reigns is not being realistic. Mullen's OC = Saban's DC

Exactly! Those who don't get this, don't have a clue about MSU coaching. Mullen's coaches are literally afraid to dare think outside of Mullen's structure. This is not some hearsay, it's fact.

How's that a fact? In what shape or form do we resemble Mullen's offense? We resemble Keonning's offense at aTm this year, and I only saw Mullen call the plays in certain situations this year. We plug spread option into our system, but for the most part we're a ground and pound (or try to be at least, this year being the exception).

Mullen's OC = Saban's DC? Ok. Lets just forget the laundry list of defensive coordinators who have coached under Saban.

If Les is LITERALLY good for nothing, why are we paying him a doctor's salary? Because he has more influence than you think.

Next time anyone has an opinion, I guess they need to make sure they run it by the most connected guy to the program.

Well Koldfire is a dubmass. My legitimate response eplanade91 is that Les isnt "completely worthless". He is our QB coach and I think a dang good one. Relf even being moderaely effective was a miracle and we have seen the development of Russel and Dak this year. I think he watches film and he does a lot of game prep. Watch the headsets. When we our on offense Mullen is chatting nonstop. That is to Les and he is telling Les what he wants. I put Koenning's offensive input at about the level of Geoff Collins on defense

And unless you are Dan Mullen, you have yourself heard Dan Mullen say these things, or you are one of Dan Mullen's assistants, it is the definition of hearsay.

Speaking as someone who has been a season ticket holder at MU the whole time Pinkel has been at Missouri, you don't want this guy as an OC. He actually is pretty creative in the plays they have designed over the years, but he falls into a rut where he calls the same 4 or 5 plays over and over again, especially in tight games in the 2nd half. And the non-stop failures MU has had scoring touchdowns from inside the 10, except in the years Chase Daniel was there, are mind boggling and infuriating.

They freely admit they script the first 20 plays of a game, and you will see some dynamic formations and MU always gets away great early in games. When the opposition adjusts and the close games become a chess match, like top level SEC games always do, he simply folds up and starts playing checkers.

He is one helluva recruiter though. He is also the QB coach and developed Brad Smith, Chase Daniel and Blaine Gabbert. Nice man, good family guy but from my seat in Section N at Faurot Field, he just can't manage the flow of a tight game and adjust to the defense, especially in tight games. As I said, he then will call the same few plays over and over again.

That's what I want in an OC. If we're going to have a lame duck OC, which I completely understand, why can't we have a guy who actually brings something to the table? From all accounts everyone says he's a great coach behind the scenes and in the drawing room, but he can't call plays to save his life. If Mullen gives his input on every damn play why does it matter if he can't?

Les was at 17'n USA before we gave him a shot. We hired him because he had the same role as he has here at his last stop, College Station. Brings nothing to the table.

Yost actually understands TODAY'S college game and has produced talent. Just can't call plays, apparently. Problem fixed!

Call me what you like. But what the 17 is a troll? I know that Les installs Mullen's offense as Mullen instructs him. Free, u are bashing me, but hell u said yourself that its Mullen's offense, WTF? Do you really think that Mullen would continue to let Les use an offense that he didnt agree with? I'm not dismissing anyone's opinion. I'm not Dan, not an assistant. Sure I'm not the most "connected" guy on this board. But I'm connected enough to feel confident in my statement. Why don't all you smart football experts ban together and demand Mullen to fire Les and Chris. I'm sure that y'all feel that there are at least 10 of you on this board from who you could appoint to fill those positions.

^^^^ I don't think anyone in their right mind can argue this .... the TOP offensive mind that has the total authority has to exert his influence on the subordinate .... with that being said, I see no reason to call for Koenings job .... defense is where Dan will have to take the coordinators word
