Let’s spot the field 4 on the first hole and then go win this thing.

These bunkers are nuts.

Some guys who I thought would have a chance to win have already played themselves into really bad spots.

Loved the one guy hitting out of a bunker and doing his best version of the Nestea plunge.

Spaniards are tearing it up today. Rahm currently in the lead at -5 and Sergio tied for 3rd at -3 after shooting a 68.

Tiger’s back is acting up again. I don’t think he’s got another win in the bag this year.

Phil and Rory have already shot themselves out of the tournament and looks like Tiger on his way to joining them on the Friday night flight back home.

Not surprised at Rahm, has a world of talent.

Tiger looks like he is going through the motions the rest of this season after winning the Masters. I am not sure if he is having back issues or is simply not very motivated right now. Unless he starts to get back the motivation and/or gets healthy, not sure he needs to play in the President's Cup since he is Captain.

Health is probably fine. 13 tournaments since the Masters...he has played PGA, Jack, US Open.....hilarious.

Duval with the smooth 15 on 7

Didn't see it. How does that happen? I assume it was a par 5, but I'm about a 25 handicap and can't remember putting up a number that big on a single hole.

Did he put 5 in the water like Sergio at the Masters last year?

Edit: I googled it. What a nightmare scenario. Lost his first 2 balls off the tee then played the wrong ball and had to play the entire hole over since they couldn't find the correct ball while taking the 2 stroke penalty for playing the wrong ball. Rough stuff.

JB off to good start this morning. Just hope he has 4 good rounds, he seems to always have that one round that totally destroys his chances to win.

Course is super gettable right now. Lots of low scores.

Will be interesting to see if the afternoon wave gets ****** or if it stays nice and easy.

I have Fleetwood in a pool this week, JB first and Fleetwood second would work for me since nobody picked JB

Maybe the producers are really good at cutting to when he’s ready to hit, but JB seems to be playing a little faster than usual, yes?

Their group seemed to play in a normal amount of time.

As a guy who has been a golf fan for 35 years, I’d really like to see Westwood win this. Would be great for JB, but I admittedly pay zero attention to college golf so his UK roots don’t really factor in for me.

First round leader has won 7 of the last 44, so the percentages say it’s unlikely JB wins.

I have a former frat brother who is JB’s brother-in-law. No real connection to me per se, but it would be cool to see him win.

JB said in his post round interview that he’s found his swing again which means he can hit without thinking too much about every shot. It shows in his pace of play and performance. Also didn’t hurt that he got the late/early draw which seems to be the good weather draw.
