I've never seen him play, so I can't really speak to his potential. But one concern I do have is that he is supposed to be pretty much strictly a serve and volley player. Nobody on the tour plays this style any more for the simple reason that with today's strings it's so much easier to hit passing shots. I'm afraid that's going to limit his upside potential. Even in the best of circumstances, he'll probably suck bad on clay which will cost him a lot of ranking points.

Hey patdog, what is it about today's strings that make passing shots easier? Curious.

the new strings make it possible to hit return serves with nearly as much velocity and accuracy regardless of the returners position (out of place). the serve and volley is pretty reliant on catching the returner off guard then taking advantage of that by cutting off the return; new strings take away that ability.

I think I know what his problem is. He's not right-handed or left-handed. He's Underhanded...<a href="http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/players/profile?playerId=1014">
