Nope

I think he does as well. Even though he hit terribly last year, he seemed to have a very easy swing. I'm not saying he will ever play meaningful innings again, but I do agree that he has what looks to be the tools of a good hitter. I think he does deserve a chance to show himself in some early games.

He's gotten better at recognizing pitches this year, I think. He's still rough around the edges and still looks downright bad, but he seems to have a little more confidence on defense and looks better at the plate. He's had 2 really good games this year hitting. Let's hope he continues.

I'm with you too on Britton. I have always thought he had potential and Cohen has been high on him from the start. I still believe he will get plenty of playing time before he is through.

He's got two more years after this one. Only the true idiots have written him off.

When in doubt, Cohen is going to go with the upperclassmen, as he should. That's why you saw Pirtle and Frost. Now, I believe Britton may have earned himself a shot to start a game or two at 2B.

The real question is whether Detz can play 2B, then this is all a moot point when Rea gets back.

Say what you will about his season averages last year

But he worked counts and got on base for us last year at the end of the season. He was our best option at that position.

He did his job by the end of the year last year. And that's great, especially for a freshman.

I'm glad we've got the depth to have him on the bench- and I don't mean that rudely. He's worked hard and deserves his credit. He was our best option, and there's pretty high expectations here.

Didn't read the earlier comments. Kind of shocked, but in a good way.

Hope he continues to get better.

I felt like Britton was going to be a good player once he got experience and maturity. I was very vocal about it to D@A and BriantheDawg. Of course, all you heard from them was that he sucked and was never going to be any good.

I'm very surprised and disappointed he isnt starting at 2nd. But not only are we not starting him at 2nd, but we are grooming him to take over at SS next year. On one hand that's a compliment to him defensively-but I hate he is going to miss all these AB's this season. Especially with him looking good so far and the other 2nd basemen struggling at the plate.

I said Detz should be the 2B from day one. Kid smashed in the scrimmages and was very successful at getting on base last year in CA and thus far this season. Very patient hitter, knows how to approach an AB (Rouge should be a huge fan) and seems to be aable to provide some XBH.
