Interesting how many schools use the fireworks intro for big games. I thought it was just a small school thing.

I remember when Wilmington started doing it 20+ years ago. The only other time I'd seen it before then was in Spring Valley semifinal vs Marengo.

I think it's pretty cool. If you don't like fireworks and you are not a dog, then then there is something wrong with you.

Totally agree. I am all for anything within the boundaries of good taste that add excitement to a game. Furthermore, I’ve seen some responders to this post question where the funding for the fireworks came from, if you don’t pay tuition to send your kid to Montini, why the hell do you care?

Rice won this game due to the great line play on both their offense and defense. They definitely were a bigger team size wise and took advantage of that size particularly on offense. Montini stayed with BR losing 14-0 at the half but eventually the size difference took its toll and they ran at will once they got the ball. Montini came down the field after the half and had one shot at a TD from about the 20 yard line but the pass was tipped in the end zone and fell into a BR defender chest who was lying on the ground. After that all it was all BR.

The offense looked out of sync and they definitely couldn't run the ball and the passing game was bad as their were several open receivers who were either overthrown and under thrown. The Montini QB's had a lot of pressure from the BR defensive line but even when they had time they were off, unlike the Loyola or PC game.

Rice was focused on Fedenzo all game and shut him down completely and they definitely were smart in pooch kicking to the opposite side he was on. Again the defensive line was huge and didn't allow any holes which the Fedenzo could exploit.

Thought the fireworks were great and IMO they were funded by a Montini supporter and not the school. I did not see any cheap shots by either team and did not hear any taunting on the field. Interestingly, Krock the house, the only unsportsman like penalty was against the BR QB for taunting after he scored on a long run. Congrats to BR on a well played game and to Coach Badke on a super game plan.

Well, they'd better hurry up before that right is taken away, as well. Maybe that hippie has a brother who was shot for no reason by the ...oh well, I can' go there. Maybe his right to vote was ... ...no, not that, either. Perhaps a
TV preacher or some bishop has taken him to a dark ... no, stop.

Actually, rights have been restored since the blowhard New York real estate developer took over for the unworldly community organizer. Mr. Obama, as you well know, ruled by diktat for close to eight years. His promiscuous use of executive order was his method to circumvent popular consent and Congress; it was also unconstitutional (e.g. DACA).

Maybe that hippie has a brother who was shot for no reason by the ...oh well, I can' go there.

By whom? Perhaps another gun-wielding criminal? If you are suggesting this "hippie" was mercilessly gunned down by police, this is the advancement of a libel. I don't think I need to remind you law enforcement's reputation has suffered terribly owing to the endless cascade of hyperbole and inflammatory accusations alleging widespread racism among police. Most of these slanders began with a shooting death in Ferguson, Missouri, which was later ruled justified by Ferguson investigators and the Obama Justice Department. This ruling, however, did not prevent the anti-police posse from pushing forward with the "hands up, don't shoot" lie, despite the fact it had been utterly dismantled by two independent inquires.

I am friends with a high-ranking member of the Chicago Police Department. His close friend, Paul Bauer, was brutally gunned down by a FOUR-TIME felon in broad daylight in the Loop last February. The murder of Bauer is a crime which should never fade from our memory. Your comment offering dark hints over police intent is beneath you and beneath contempt. As for the remainder of your post, I won't comment.
