Says his mother said he won't be going to WVU and will be staying close to home. Never said he's coming to State but said 70% chance he signs with State.

I hope we get him. I wanted him to be a Bulldog all along.

But, I don't believe anything Rosebowl says. If he did indeed say that.

I'll believe it on February 3rd when those faxes come in.

If he's not going to WV, why wouldn't he be 100%? Don't tell me someone else has stepped into the picture.

It sure would be great if Rosebowl was right. He is projecting us to get Thompson, Robinson, Brunetti, Humphrey and Eatmon to close out.

He had the following percentages in his little game:

5* Rogers - 5%
4* Thompson - 85%
4* Robinson - 75%
4* Sanders - 50%
3* Nash - 10%
3* Brunetti - 70%
3* Eatmon - 65%
3* Humphrey - 80%
2* Muniz - 25%
2* Day - 100% if offered

That would be a great way to close out the class.

It looks like we have a great chance to close out with:

1) Brunetti
2) Robinson
3) Thompson
4) Eatmon
5) Day
6) Humphrey

And we still have a shot at Vincent Sanders and others.

but the whole crew over there.

Let me recap:

Gene on the DC- It's Ruffin McNeal's job to lose. Turns out all that happened was McNeal made a call to Mullen, and that was it.

David Murray- Jarrod Parks broke his neck goofing off. I guess fielding a bunt during a game and falling flat on your back is considered "goofing off".

David Murray- I just saw Dan and Manny Diaz at the Grill. Blind squirrels DO find nuts!

And now we have Rosebowl's Barry Brunetti's Mom doesn't want him to go to West Virginia, but he's only 70% sure that he's coming to State. Oh, and Damien Robinson-gate.

All in the span of about two weeks.

BDJ is SO much better its not even funny.

but it is a fact that Brunetti's mom is practically begging him to come to State. In Macolm Johnson's interview he stated that Brunetti's mom approached him and was asking him to convince Barry to come to State. That's on the record.

The thing is, USUALLY I'm not one of those dumbasses that says "I only want guys that WANT to be here, blah blah blah" but I just feel like it kind of sucks for Brunetti. It's pretty obvious he wants to go to WVU but he's getting serious pressure not to do so, and it would suck to be in that position. That being said, if he does in fact come to State, I think he will realize pretty quickly he made a good decision. As was discussed earlier, Mullen > Bill Stewart...SEC > Big East...WVU is obviously on the downswing.

I'm guessing the reason that he only has Brunetti at 70% despite what his mom apparently said is that a) there's no way to guarantee that his mom said that and b) even if she did, she isn't Barry and he hasn't committed elsewhere yet. Which means that he's, you know, playing it smart instead of jumping all over the latest rumor/info? Sounds like a good way to do it, actually. And he definitely never said Cam was a lock to State.

He never said he will not be attending West Virginia. He said his mother said he will not be attending West Virginia. Big difference and hence the 70% (and 30% to WV I would imagine).

she will have to agree to sign off on his LOI for him to go to WV even if that's where he wants to go. I know we've dealt with the situation where the kid wanted to come to MSU but the parent either wouldn't or held off on signing.

had to have the parent signoff. Seems like we even had this situation last year with McPhee. Maybe somebody more up on this can confirm the rule.

there's nothing to stop a player from just going to that school without signing a LOI and being put on scholarship when he gets there.

I don't see why anybody signs a LOI.. that pretty much locks you into playing at that school or facing a penalty

If you don't sign on signing day, they're just going to move on to the next recruit.

but for the all-world guys who can go wherever they want, I don't see them not holding a scholarship for you if you tell them you're coming regardless of a signed LOI

If you tell a coach you're not signing a LOI, you're basically telling him you're not committed to him and nobody's going to hold a sholarship open for a guy who's not even commited to them.

that's why many want an early signing date--so recruiting can end even earlier.

"If you are under the age of 21, regardless of marital status, your parent or legal guardian must sign the National Letter of Intent in order for it to be considered valid. If you are 21 years of age or older, it is not necessary for your parent or legal guardian to sign the document."

not sure if the above is true, but wasn't it between WVU and Bammer when he came out of high school?
