Bryant Bean and Hunt

Having just finished a hellish run through those three QBs, I have to believe that the WSS has the deepest stable of top shelf QBs in the state.

Bryant, the junior, put it on GW at Duchon while dislocating a finger on each hand and looks like a stud with a Wisconsin offer. He almost brought LT back against HC but...

Bean takes over the 2nd half against GW and looks like a world beater after beating GW and LT back to back with his arm and legs. Tough kid that takes a lick yet keeps his head enough to calmly run a two minute drill for late game glory. Not sure where he is playing next year but thought I heard Ivy League. As he now has the inside track to the Conference title, you have to call the kid a winner.

Maybe the biggest arm in the conference is Jeremy Hunt from OPRF. That kid has a cannon and a couple of big targets. GW tried to pressure him all day and he did show some happy feet at times but he engineered five touchdown drives with no running game. He looks like Cam Newton and knows how to get a first down when needed. I think Bean is the better runner and Bryant throws the softest deep ball but Hunt is definitely built for the next level.

Glad to put those guys in our rear view. Certainly the best run of three QBs GW has played in my seven seasons here.

Yeah maybe the Cam Newton reference to Hunt isn't the best match. Hunt runs OK, not will not be a runner like Newton at the next level. Bean is a better runner. Hunt has the strongest arm imho and now that you mention Rothlesberger, that might be what he more closely resembles. It must have been a subconscious bias that matched him with Newton.

What about your own QB, Brady? I've not seen him play this year but seems to be putting up pretty decent numbers in admittedly less attempts given the emphasis on the run at GW. And with the video game stats from last weekend, think we see a very balanced offense going forward?

The kid has improved significantly. Making good reads and has learned how to put air under the ball. The throws he made against OPRF were really nice but the play calling was the key. Guys were wide open in some cases. You can feel the offense playing looser. I'm feeling like it would be nice to be a dark horse in 7A right now.

Looks like a great year to be in 7A, compared to 8A....all of a sudden everyone has stopped talking about GW after 2 losses to 2 really good 8A teams.

Get a couple of "get healthy" weeks in to end the season and play some back-ups, offense is getting going, a little Duchon magic in the playoffs, watch out....
