Bubble Watching...

South Alabama just lost to Middle Tennessee in the Sun Belt semis, likely turning that into a 2 bid league and taking one of those at large spots. Lunardi had USA as a 9 today. MTSU's RPI is 131. They might be sweating it Sunday, but I'd guess they're still probably in.

San Diego is trying to make the WCC a 3 bid league against Gonzaga. Toreros up 3 at the half.

Another to watch is Davidson, currently taking care of business in the SoCon, up 8 at half.

The bubble is shrinking for the rebs and others.

They dropped from 25 to 39 with tonight's loss. What hurt them so much tonight was that they were hosting the Sun Belt Tournament, which makes this a home loss (worth 1.4 losses to the RPI).

On their side, though, is the fact that they're 3-2 vs RPI top-50 teams. Working against them are their 3 losses to RPI 101+ teams. The 128th ranked SOS isn't helping, either. They'll certainly be sweating it on Sunday.

San Diego, Zaga and St. Mary's??

San Diego - Auto bid.
Zaga's good wins - WKU, VaTech, St. Joes, UConn, St. Mary's (Definitely In)
St. Mary's good wins - Drake, Oregon, Seton Hall, SDSU, Ohio, Zaga (How do you leave them out?? 24-6, RPI 39)

thanks to conference tourneys the WCC gets 3 and the Sun Belt gets 2. Too bad they're not all like the Ivy League.

thing to happen to our two schools for each to able to form a separate identity on a national scene. There would be a media uproar and a ton of pub. The committee would have to redo the brackets completely probably giving us a higher seed than we deserved. In short, it would be great.

</p>There's NO WAY they would go back and redo the brackets. None whatsoever.

They have the 20 wins and a winning conference record (barely), but they have also lost 5 of 8 and have four losses outside the RPI top 100. If they were to lose in the first round of the SECT, they would have lost 6 of 9.

I fully expect them to make the tourney, but I don't necessarily agree that they are a lock.

Coach has declared it to be true so there are a lock. Don't even bother with well thought out arguments and reasoning; they are in no matter what happens this week.

Illinois State got blasted by Drake, which hurts them.

USA losing in the semis hurts if Ole Miss wins two in the SECT.

Ah, Providence moved up. The Razorbacks had five losses outside the Top 100 for the longest time & now Arkansas' profile looks much more better than Ole Miss and UAB (both of which have five losses outside the Top 100) than previously.
