From Veazey's blog:

DWS was expanded for the 2000 season. The upper deck was opened in 2002. Look what happened - despite playing through the worst years in MSU football history, the old high watermark became the new floor in season ticket sales.

between when blogs are published and when they appear in the feed. Does everyone have that?

Yes - as far as I know - there is a timed delay where we won't be hitting the Clarion Ledger servers every time someone does a page refresh. I am not sure about the time interval of the updates.

It's essentially doubled the last 12 years. Not sure how many other schools can say that. Especially considering we've had only 2 or 3 winning seasons in those 12 years.

For example, that most recent blog isn't showing up in the feed above, and it may not for an hour or more. Sometimes I go to the blog and find out that there are one or two more entries more recent than the most recent one above.

maybe 30 min or an hour.

Assuming the delay is 1 hour - if the RSS feed just checked 1 min ago and Veazey does 3 blog updates in an hour's time - you won't see them until 59 minutes later.

From what I understand you do not have to be pushing capacity every game to need to expand. I don't remember who said it, but they said that if you are bringing in 75% capacity for every game, it is time for an expansion. Basically what the original poster said: If you build a bigger stadium, more people will come.

you have to make sure the income from the new seats justifies the price. Thats why you've seen a spree of luxury seating throughout the college football the last 10 years.

I would expect State's next expansion to only add about 10K seats. But if those are all boxes and club seats then the revenue from those is probably more than adding 25K regular seats. Plus, the price would probably be lower, and the stadium doesn't look empty at 70% capacity.

Why is there a need for a delay on the RSS feed? I'm not following why the RSS feed should be queued. Clarifcationku?

we were hitting Clarion Ledger's servers. Gannett, company that owns the CL, actually blocked yuku(sixpackspeak) from pulling from their RSS feeds because it was putting too much of a demand on their servers.

So I was using my own(used feed.informer.com) and it had probably a 1-2 hour delay of pulling RSS feeds but a gracious poster here provided another link that was a lot quicker.

What I just said above could be complete ******** but this is the way I understand it.

The entire Croom era was a regression. Is there any better proof that fans in general don't give a **** about how it's done, they just want to win?

Also, that's incredible that we only sold around 20,000 season tickets up until the later '90s.
