A friend of mine made a good point when discussing the current football program. He's opinion was that while Stoops has been adding quality recruits they have been forced to speed up the maturation process with most players. Case in point Matt Elam. Elam should have redshirted along with most of our recruits.
Stoops has made the decision to move most freshman forward to fill holes in the current roster instead of red shirting. Some of these players are physically ready but not good enough to compete. Obviously several players from each class have red shirted but
Not all have lived up to our expectations.
Thus we have been plugging the holes and not really building this roster. We have quality players on both sides of the ball but not enough. Slippery slope I guess.
