Dang. Those guys had some short life spans. My English died last year at the age of 8 and it was way too soon.

We painted bully black after that and Ole Miss didn't want anything to do with him from then on.
So three of our Bully's were killed when hit by a bus or car and another one was murdered. Being MSU mascot is a dangerous job.
Actually no. Bulldogs are so genetically 17'ed up that 8 or 9 is about the average lifespan these days. Other dogs that haven't been bred into horrible disfigurations and genetic abnormalities are living to 15 or 16 years now because of increased nutrition and vet care. The European version of the AKC changed the spec for a Bulldog because they consider it cruel, I can't understand why the AKC won't follow their lead. It is a terribly flawed breed and its cruel because it could be fixed.

August 2001 we bury a dog in the north end zone after having a pretty good run from 1997-2000. The following 6 years our highest win total is 3 wins. We probably dig up the dog in order to construct the new part of the stadium and we are ranked No. 1.

Yeah dude. I get that. I've owned several English Bulldogs. I was referencing the fact most of our mascots early on lived 1-2 years (apparently buses have been a problem). As for my dog, I was lamenting that the 8 year's wasn't long enough because I miss my buddy. I pointed that out bc our school was losing Dawgs every other year and that was sad.
