At first, I thought " Indiana hasn't done anything recently (at least in the last 24, 48 hours) suckworthy notable. Of course, I'm often not up to speed on all things Indiana - gratefully so.

That said, I see the thread got bumped and was curious as to find out what it is exactly THIS TIME, Indiana is sucking at ? And lo and behold ... there's that poor guy wearing the Indiana sweater, could win a million dollars, a great trip, everything on the line.... and it's all spelled out right there for him..... what does he do?

Absolutely BLOWS it ! hahahaha !!!! How appropriate he wore his Indiana gear!

Thanks for the update 9n9 !

Proof positive that you can SUCK AND BLOW at the same time, if you are a Hoosier fan !

Way to represent !

Notable Basketball Programs in the State of Indiana:

Purdue
Butler
Notre Dame
IUPUI
Ft. Wayne
Purdue, Butler & Notre Dame have ALL been to the Elite-8 since their little brother Indiana has. This would be like here saying that UofL, Western Kentucky & Murray have all been to the Elite-8 since UK has. The Indiana downfall couldn't have happened to a more deserving fanbase.

On April 28, 1987, the NBA announced expansion to Charlotte and Miami in 1988, and Minneapolis and Orlando in 1989.

Add the Raptors and Grizzlies in the 90s and the former Charlotte Bobcats in 2004 (now Hornets, the original Hornets are now the Pelicans), and Indiana's last championship is older than 7 NBA franchises.

Zrno Decomits and goes to Rutgers definitely classifies as sucking

That’s one weird situation. Zrno’s representative said they tried to contact DeVries numerous times and got no response from the new IU coach.

The thing is, Zrno decommitted the day DeVries was hired so….um….weird.

Considering the mutual animosity between UK and IU, I'm shocked I actually have liked the DeVries hire for IU. He seems like a good guy, likeable, and a good coach. Makes me wonder if I could personally bury the hatchet with IU fans....

Ultimately, NO.

It still doesn't mean I don't think IU might have made a decent hire, finally. And there is the buzz with the portal haul they got and all the money pouring in for them to try and gain quality players.

But this situation with DeVries GHOSTING Zrno, leading to his decommit ... has the stench of all the past years of failure at IU. Not a good look that you finally get some hype and positive news, and then this happens. Add to the fact you get a good player like Wilkerson that UK was interested in, but the fact he was more willing to step into the lead role of being "the MAN" on a team, rather than a player willing to sacrifice or do whatever it would take for his TEAM to succeed, it only adds to the question marks surrounding the Hoosiers upcoming season.

All of which makes me VERY leery of Indiana having anything resembling an NCAA tournament level caliber team next year. Likeable or not, DeVries faces a huge uphill climb to get IU back anywhere near the top of college basketball.

I keep looking at Indiana's portal recruitment and still can't really see where they are going to be an upper level team in the Big Ten, much less the rest of the country.

And all of this is still proof positive Indiana still sucks.

I guess we will find out next year if anything has changed in the slightest.

Darian DeVries was hired by IU on March 18th. Zrno decommitted on March 19th.

So don’t you think “ghosted” is a bit of a stretch? DeVries hadn’t even had time to talk to any of the current players on IU’s roster about possibly remaining part of the team. It took him a few days to get in touch with 4 star Trent Sisley who stayed committed to IU.

The Zrno situation is beyond bizarre but no, DeVries didn’t “ghost” Zrno. Zrno is like the girl you take on a date once, have a nice time but the next night by 10pm she’s blowing up your phone wondering what went wrong and why you haven’t called her.

Too bad it was impossible for DeVries to have contacted Zrno after he decommitted. lol

I’m thinking he contacted the kid who didn’t decommit within 24 hours of DeVries being hired.

Sisley’s still a Hoosier. Zrno’s rep sounds like a nut. He said they made numerous phone calls and texts to DeVries and none were returned….within the first 24 hours of DeVries accepting the job.

Good luck to the kid at Rutgers but sheesh.

I don't get it why wait 30-40 years after it happened to just now file lawsuits.. Especially after he died.. I know he's a scumbag but dead men can't argue I guess..

Not only that, but the ex-IU player saying he was just a kid and didn’t know better? If I’m 18+ years old, there is no way anybody is sticking anything up my ***. Like wtf? I’m not saying these players deserved to be abused, but where is the common sense?

I’m guessing at the time young men didn’t really feel comfortable coming forward against a person in a position of power because they probably would’ve been called gay or liars given how society was at the time with reverence to authority figures.

People didn’t start talking openly about sexual abuse, mental health or even domestic violence until at least the 90s. Those things were kept hush, hush back in the day. Don’t rock the boat if you know what’s good for you was the prevailing sentiment of the times.

I'm with you. I was a typical 18 year old myself, but one thing I know for sure is I had self respect well before I turned 18. If a dude tried to sexually abuse me at 18 I can tell you for a fact that I would be throwing fists.

I have honestly asked the same question. Like nobody on the team ever said, yo did the doctor do anything to you that was super messed up? I know there are super naive people out there but some things don’t seem plausible to me.

I can understand that, I know it was an issue for sure.

I have no idea what is going on, nor do I want to know what is going on with the Indiana basketball progrum, but I can assure you one thing... just like the sun rising in the East every morning. They suck. Past history, approx. 35-40 years worth, would indicate that they suck. Reminds me of a shampoo commercial, lather, rinse, repeat, suck.
