So as much as Cohen bunts, why didn't he bunt with Rea in the 10th? If Rea bunts Armstrong over, he scores on Britton's hit. It just bewilders me that he won't hesitate to bunt with Collins, but he'll let a guy who has struggled all year swing away.

Maybe he's not a good bunter. Also, Rea has hit pretty good in the tournament.

Rea actually can bunt, but even if he couldn't, you could pinch hit Detz and let him bunt instead.

He's sacrificed 7 times the last 2 years. No reason for him not to bunt in that situation.

I didn't see the game so I don't really have a comment on if he should have or not. I just never though I'd see a thread on here mad at Cohen because he did not bunt.

Even more I never thought I'd read something saying Rea should bunt so that Britton could get a hit and score the run after. I understand Britton has improved and Rea's not been the same but still

I don't subscribe to a bunting or not bunting philosophy. I just seek consistency. Over the last 3 or 4 weekends, I've seen Collins (who is arguably our best and hottest hitter at the moment) asked to lay down a bunt on several occasions. I just don't see how Cohen couldn't ask Rea to lay one down in that 10th with Britton and Bradford (both who are swinging a decent bat) to follow.
