I really don't see why this is a big deal. What was a coach supposed to do when he found out about all that?

I'm not saying that he's guilty or innocent. But the fact he made calls to these people once he found out isn't a story to me. It's what he should've done.

I think that the point is that the Knoxville police called him a full 9 hours BEFORE they searched his players apartment.

False. It borders on obstruction of justice. If the FBI can get recordings of those calls, Butch (and his KDP cronies) could wind up behind bars.

From the article: "The caller is Sam Brown, a KPD Detective who serves as a liaison between the department and Tennessee football."

You know your program is ethically and criminally challenged when you have to have a liaison with the local police department.

I'm sure the UT apologist trolls will be along any time to explain this one away: "Nothing to see here!!!! ..... Move along!!"

Can anyone get a recording of the calls between Dooley and the KPD the night the eight thugs assaulted the TWO men with no charges filed, There is NO DOUBT that the situation was a massive coverup by everyone involved, no charges filed or lawsuits when one of the men went to the hospital with a concussion. Maybe calls to the owner that let the players in without paying the cover charge, maybe some conversation about not picking up the surveillance film until the next morning, and making sure they were "defective" then.

Poor KPD, don't they know the first thing you should do is confiscate the film? Poor off duty police officer, doesn't he know if he really is interested in protecting the public the first thing he should have done is file charges against them? Poor KPD AND Dooley, didn't they both know the normal procedure is to charge all eight of them with attempted murder (whether serious or not, like they did in a local case) and watch the ones that (maybe, it was TU thugs, probably they all wanted in on the fun) weren't involved squeal like rats? Either jail time or loss of your scholarship would have been a powerful tool for finding out the truth-----IF you had the slightest desire to find the truth, wasn't the first one involved the 6' 4" 320# DT that had to have help, he sounds like he might have played some. Is he the one (the ONLY one with the slightest punishment, sorry, I could run a lot of steps at that age, good for your conditioning AND health) that had to miss the 52-0 opening day slaughter or was it the third team kick holder?

THAT was a no brainer as to whether TU treats their athletes like every other student on campus------as Mr Hart lied through his teeth about on national TV-------and amazingly enough, I think there are plenty of copies of that around, what a stupid thing for him to say on TV------but then maybe he had no choice.

And those tapes are available, watch them and watch his nose closely.

"Hey dude you're being charged with rape. Police told me they'll be here in 9 hours. Wash and clean everything. Delete pics. Destroy evdience. You're gonna be fine" yeah that's very close to what is called a felony charge.

the fact that UT needs a police liaison just tells me everything about that hilljack school.

Just unreal how the Knoxville police handled this.
That would be the kind of thing that would trouble me if I were the parent of a young man in high school looking to decide what community he would be living in & what coach he would be playing for over the next 4-5 years

Yeah, it definitely would me too, but I sincerely believe it is a recruiting advantage for some of their players and TRANSFERS, especially at Transfer U. And don't forget that UL can transform ALL those players that didn't qualify out of high school and that were kicked out of other real schools into a bunch of scholars with a perfect APR-----LOL. BP never recruited this good with the great record and $400,000,000 renovations when he could lay claim to playing in the BEST football conference in the nation-----------at a STATE UNIVERSITY with no real in state competition.

Some recruits know they are going to need help to cover their tracks sooner or later------and they know where they can get it. Geez, just look at the coaches they have down the road, and how did that TWO TIME NROTY win those awards?

And they do have some "special benefits", similar to the old "Orange Pride", but of course the NCAA outlawed the Pride------wait a minute, isn't that the same NCAA that is a joke? Watch the final four and get back to me.

Yep. The NCAA is quick to come down hard on real and perceived homophobia and politically correct team monikers, but on issues pertaining to the core integrity of the student-athlete ideals (unc** suckacuse, loserville, etc.), they are inept and corrupt. Kind of like the United Nations.
