JV averages about 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 blocks. I don't know what to expect from Sidney... maybe 15 - 18ppg, 10 rebounds, 2.5 blocks?? Like you said, more offense but no where near the same defense. He'll be a big body that can defend, but Jarvis had a huge affect on offensive game plans. I mean, people know he's the best shot blocker and try to plan around it but he still averaged almost 5 blocks. So I think Sidney may average 4-6 more ppg, but Jarvis probably prevents at least that many points from being scored every game.
But overall, I think we improve. I think not making the tournament has a better effect on the returning players than if we had made it.... and no, I don't mean because we get to play in the NIT. This is the first tournament our juniors have missed. Hopefully they learn we can't afford to lose to WKU, Rider, Richmond - heck even Ark, Bama, Auburn. We've got to be a solid top 20 team all year so that it really doesn't matter how we play down the stretch. We don't need to rely on "win & your in" type games. I'm hoping both players and coaches have a different attitude next year and come out every game with a killer instinct. Sure, we're going to have a few flat games but we can't have a season full of them like this year.
